I never noticed that Bronn asked Tyrion if that was his first kill. King Robert would be all ears for that story.

Rodrik was more worried about getting blood on Catelyn's clothes than he was about his wound. What a gentleman.

I've never clocked Bronn in his scenes before him offering to fight for Tyrion in the Vale. Seeing his ears prick up when he first hears "a Lannister always pays his debts". The early Seasons let you track every last amazing detail of the characters.

I never noticed how when Tyrion says “a Lannister always pays his debts” he looks straight at Bronn. I also never noticed how caitlyn also picks up on it

I love that even with everything going on, Tyrion is able to appreciate Catelyn's cleverness in lying about using the King's Road

I find it quite interesting that Tyrion is already preparing his escape here, by effectively manipulating Bronn. In the taver where he got captured, he learnd that bronn is a sellsword (since bronn give him his room for a coin) and here he makes this dirty jokes. Later before the trial by combat he continues doing that, simply to get bronn to fight for him.

One the things I like about this scene is how every character has a strong, clear motivation, and yet it's very layered. At this point of the series we're getting to know Tyrion as bitter and cynical, capable of kindness (towards Bran and Jon) but also cold towards the Starks. He's a Lannister, he belongs to the rival family. This scene showcases his intelligence, his protestation of innocence makes sense. He saves Catelyn which shows him to be very decent, yet when he saves her, he proves quite capable of violence, thus keeping us on our toes.
