catelyn is a great character and very well played by michelle. I can understand why there are those who disagree with her actions but i dont see how you can hate her? she means well and isnt perfect, she makes mistakes like we all do.

This for me is up there with the monologue of Russel Crow in Gladiator, but upload the whole speech. Makes this end part stronger.

She's one of the most kindest, honourable and selfless character in the books!

Don't whine about Jon because he knows he had a happy childhood. I'm sure Gilly, Gren, Samwell, Tyrion, Dany and nearly every other bastard, would love it if there worst childhood experience was a stepmother who ignored them

@SurfaceCollison Yes I have read the novels and there is nothing tragic about Jon's life. He realised that when he joined the Nights Watch. Sam, Gilly, Pyp, Gren all had a miserable life not him.

@sineshady You are right about that but at the time given all the evidence it really looked like it was Tyrion who did it all, remeber she is a mother and a wife who has just had her husband shiped away to the capital and her second youngest son almost killed, it is enough to promt such action based on really compelling evidence at the time.

She is not perfect, she is human.

She made Jon feel like shit for his entire life, like he didn't belong.. and all that was Ned's fault. Jon never asked for this.
Then, she take Tyrion as a prisonner just because Littlefinger told him something about a knife. It got Ned wounded, lot of stark/lannister killed, and much more. And it wasn't even a well thought out decision, she was trying to hide from him, but then he saw her and 'Oh, I wanted to ignore him, but might as well take him prisonner now that he saw me!".

and with that one single decision Catelyn Stark caused the deaths of thousands. including her own family. smh

@sineshady Heart wants what the heart wants, but I can see logic in that point, she really never should of trusted him and perhaps if it wasn't something like what happened she would of been more suspicious.

Catelyn treated Jon like shit. She kidnapped Tyrion with little evidence, which almost got Tyrion killed, put her poor husband and children (and Riverrun) in considerable danger, and achieved sweet screw all (well, except for getting Jory killed).

I've seen both seasons and am roughly 1/2 through the 1st book. I don't hate Catelyn but I have no love for her either. I prefer people who THINK about the right course of action and then to their best to implement it. Hopefully she redeems herself.
