Anna, I am 70 and have been playing chess for one year. I have had to learn and remember so much before I could even think about forming a PLAN! Your video about forming a plan in the middle game helped me so much. You are delightful and a solid teacher. Thanks, Gaynor

This is one of the best educational chess videos I've seen. Perfect blend of general and positional knowledge and insight. Anna covered it all, from the general stratgey of the opening theory, the general strategy at certain points of the game, specific reasons for particular moves, and insight into her thinking as well as her opponent's. A great video for "how to get better at chess" especially for a hobbyist player such as myself, who quite frankly, could care less about what Stockfish considers to be the best move order. I know these type of videos aren't for everyone, but I hope she'll continue to put them out with some regularity.

Belated congratulations! You've played beautifully and I'm glad your opponent took the loss so well. Thanks heaps for talking us through your thoughts and let us experience this proud moment for you.

Anna, you are much easier to follow when explaining the moves than most YouTube videos I have watched. I’m glad I found your channel and look forward to more videos with your excellent and delightful instruction.

Imagine beating an opponent with a rating 300 points above yours with a sick knight sac. Nice win!

Inspired play for a player of any age, let alone a 16 year old playing an IM. It was because Anna was able to "think out of the box" we call a chess board that she was able to pull it off. The knight sacrifice in that position is one of the most brilliant moves I've seen.

Your way of retelling this is so great. I love how you explain what you were thinking and talk about what would have been a better move. Also, you just seem so happy whenever you are talking about chess. I wish I could play chess well enough to be worth your time to play. :)

Your story telling of games is amazing! Your skill to fully explain the whole picture so anyone can understand what is going on helps so much.

What a wonderful educational video. I could watch it over and over again and learn something new every time. Thank you, Anna. Please make more of these type of videos.
2018 was only 4 years ago. It feels like a lifetime ago.

Really enjoyed the deep analysis. The way you explain it is perfect to me and I really learn a lot when you do this type of video. Its long but worth the time!

That kind of miscalculation as described by you (when you miss that after some moves a pivotal part of the position has changed [too] ) is very common. Grandmaster Krogius, who was also a certified psychologist, described that in his book on psychology in chess.

I really enjoy these. I like that you explain the thought process. It gives me an idea of what I should be looking for. Nice win by the way.
