So which would you have:
Toyota Robust Accurate 4-wheel drive or Honda Compact Recreational-Vehicle?
(And do you have any better acronym suggestions??)

I have CRV for long, for me Honda does not touch the luxury or "tech gadgetd accessories" but more important the reliability and long term usability without any compromise. For me Honda is a long term friend you can trust, not a nice looking guy and a momentum one.

Honda’s current hybrid cars no longer use a CVT. They have 2 electric motors. One is connected to the engine and is used as a generator while the 2nd is connected to the wheels. The main purpose of the engine is to generate electricity, but in some situations such as high speed cruising, it is more efficient for the engine to power the tires. The compact engine-linked clutch delivers power from the engine to the tires enabling low-fuel consumption driving. When you press the accelerator to pass at highway speed, the clutch decouples the engine from the wheels and the engine acts as a generator to produce more power.

Honda’s IMMD hybrid system is faster(in real test), smoother, and more efficient than Toyota hybrid system, which is admitted and be highly praised by toyota official

CRV stands for comfortable runabouts vehicle

No one should be using the standard infotainment systems. People should be using Apple Carplay or Android Auto bc they're infinitely better in both cars.

Eh -- I'm still not satisfied. Thank you for doing this review first! Nobody else is reviewing as CRV Hybrid has yet to be introduced in America. I like the CRV interior better. RAV4 does not offer leather at all. Honda offers leather. The console isn't that bad -- don't understand as I see no shiny anything. Manual seats are a downer.

I don't believe the 1.5petrol turbo in the crv outperform the 2.5 naturally aspirated petrol in the rav4 & I think the battery range also out performs the crv.

Really puzzled by these co2 and mpg figures. Any adverts I see show the co2 figures much higher (131 rav and 20 higher for the CRv) and mpg lower (48 rav and 42 crv). Any owners like to comment ?

Why 2WD? Might as well buy a hatchback or an estate if you want front wheel drive or rear wheel drive.

Great video! The CRV has been more confortable than the RAV4 (engine refinement and suspension). Toyotajeff channel did a comparison about rav4-2019 vs rav4-2020 and the noise issue was targetted and he measured the differences which seem significant.

If the battery is so small how come we still loose the 7 seat option in the hybrid CRV? Great review as ever 😎

We were just about to buy our 4th Honda but heard about a brake simulator recall in Japan affecting the Jazz, HRV and CRV . Honda have so far not recalled in the UK but some forums say that some owners have had to pay 2k for the repair in the UK. Others say dealerships are offering to pay 40%. I don’t know the numbers affected and it isn’t a complete brake failure but the wait time for parts is apparently weeks. We intend to drive across France and Spain in retirement so we’re now looking at a RAV 4.

Excellent review, I have a request can you please make a comparison video of the Honda safety sense (CR-V) vs Toyota safety sense (RAV4).

Doug missing key info as usual. The Excel is the most well spec'd trim in the Rav4. The Sr is not in the CRV, so you can get a memory seat in the EX trim of the CRV. Also, the Rav4 has no through loading. Quite an important point for a family utility vehicle, which was not acknowledged.

You need more knowledge on how hybrid operate.

For fairly big cars these have terrible headroom. I could only sit in the RAV4 with the seat reclined to an uncomfortable position. The CR-V has slightly better headroom, as said in the video, but I still brushed the headlining with the seat reasonably reclined. We have a Honda Jazz. Its much smaller, and much lower, yet is MUCH more spacious for the driver.
