The 2016 CR-V was the best ever CR-V in my opinion. It was lighter than the current one. Had a 2.5l engine that really gave amazing fuel efficiency. And the car had zero defects for the 4 years I owned it. The current 1.5l turbo is noisy, underpowered (it is as big as the original Honda Pilot) and has lousy fuel efficiency when loaded up. Its fuel efficiency flies out the window when the turbo spins up under load. It has also got poor acceleration because the engine changes valve timing when the turbo spins up. This is what Atkinson cycle engines do to avoid engine knock.

Great Review Andrea. I owned a Honda Accord previously which I absolutely loved. I currently own a 2019 Toyota RAV 4 XLE AWD and couldn’t be happier. When I was shopping for a new suv in 2019, these were the 2 models I was considering. I opted for the RAV 4 because of their included standard safety features and price. I couldn’t justify paying thousands of dollars more for a CRV to get the same features that Toyota offers for a much lower price. Thank you for mentioning features vs price comparison between the CRV and RAV 4. That was the dealbreaker for me ultimately going with the RAV 4.

My first new car was an ‘81 Civic. Had 3 Hondas. But I’d go Toyota Hybrid in this case, in the U.S. Great review!

You guys are right ! I just canceled my order for a 2023 Honda CRV EX-L since for a similar price I’m getting a 2023 RAV4 gas limited with more standard features in Canada. I been owning Honda Cars for more than 10 years, loved them !but I feel Honda wants to profit their cars in the Canadian market with big prices and by removing options like home link, rain sensing wipers, premium sound system, panoramic sun roof just to mention some! The current EX-L model price used to be the same for the 2022 touring!! So now you are paying more for less….

Toyota, easily. I've got the 2020 XLE AWD and the fuel economy is superb in real world. Nothing in this class that isn't hybridized comes close.

Honda used to be an easy pick for me but with their price increases id pick Rav out of these two. But my overall pick would be the Sportage although I still hate the name lol. Great videos guys you’ve moved to my number 1 car review channel

Awesome review! I'm a last year baby boomer and I still look at the prices! The Rav4 would be a winner for me!

Looking forward to another comparison video Andrea. Both of these cars look very smart, well designed inside and outside with great specs and interia design.

Thanks for the feedback! I lease a 2021 CRV here in the US and I was interested in the new CRV until I've watched a few reviews in which other SUVs offer more for less money! I'm looking at the RAV4 Hybrid or the Mazda CX-50.😁

I was all set to buy the new 2023 CRV after driving my current CRV for the last ten years. But my dealership was adding a premium to the price and I told them no. I know have a new Subaru Forester on order!!

Rav4 is more utility. CRV feels and looks more upscale………interior and exterior. I would go Honda CR-V. Thanks Andrea ! 👍

I've had my 2022 RAV4 LE for three months now. I love it and look forward to driving it every day. I'm retired, and I just loaf about in my RAV and don't experience the noisy engine that reviewers keep talking about -- I find the RAV quiet, in fact. Having said all that, I'm sure I'd love the new CR-V too.

With hybrids being the meat of the market (and will most likely continue to increasingly be), it’s frustrating how Honda forces buyers to pay for the top trim… It may just push people over to toyota rather than customers staying loyal to honda and digging MUCH deeper into their pockets.

We're in Texas and just purchased a 2023 Honda CRV Hybrid Sport Touring. We sat in the 2023 Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid Sport, but we were disappointed with the interior space. My husband is a big guy with very broad shoulders and the RAV 4 was an immediate no. He was not comfortable. The CRV was an immediate yes for shoulder room. In Texas, the top trim CRV hybrid was less expensive than the top trim Rav4 hybrid. Strange how different prices are per region. I'm a huge Toyota fan. My last 3 vehicles have been Toyota and super reliable and low maintenance. I really was expecting to get into another Toyota, but Honda really surprised me.

I think its hard to make one model better than other just based on the MSRP price in the current market. Nowadays Rav4's dealers are asking for more mandatory accessories and upping the price and some Honda dealers are just asking $x market adjustment without mandatory accessories. Its good to get all the prices for the rav4 and CRV if you want to decide. Just going based on the MSRP to decide will not give you the better insight.

after Honda shafting me for 10 months with a back ordered part, i'm sticking with Toyota

Honda for me...I've owned a few..they are very reliable..as Toyota.. I will say though Honda had made some interesting choices with her packaging on like ventilated seats and what you're getting so I think they're a little off on that so I credit you guys for pointing that out
