Mom brain/pregnancy brain is actually being studied under MRI scans right now! A pregnant neuroscientist started scanning her brain during and after pregnancy and found that some of the gray matter (which contributes to memory, functioning etc) shrinks during pregnancy and then never returns to normal afterwards. Which that discovery has sparked a lot of new research into why that happens! So it’s believed to be a real physiological thing! All the journals on it online are super interesting to read!

The mom brain thing is actually real!! I saw something the other day that our brain doesn’t go back to normal for 2 yrs postpartum. When you are pregnant your grey matter in the brain shrinks up to 8% and the white matter increases. It’s so real! Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise
