I'd choose Calisthenics, since calisthenics is just simply bodyweight movement. Thus standing up is technically a squat, which is part of calisthenics. If I wasnt able to stand up, that would be a big problem. So ya, Calisthenics it is.

I used to bench press about 275 lb at 170 lb body weight. I know that's not insane or anything. It was a great accomplishment for me though and I felt great about it. But I'm saying this because when I started learning calisthenics moves. Especially with the planche, I noticed that the front delt strength has to be immense to even do it. It's a totally different area of strength. It's pretty insane. Tons of straight arm strength

Calisthenics does build muscles slower, but the main point is that focusing on proper form, builds way more muscle (even those you may find it harder to hit with weights), and of course adds stability in the same if done slowly. So if you want definition in certain parts its much easier with weights.

Looks like you got planche down in a few of those clips. Are 90° handstand push-ups not harder than holding planche?.... they look harder. I hit 275lbs benchpress last week. Working my way back up to 300. Haven't hit that since 2022. I curled 125 and skull crushed 120 during the session last week too. Getting back to calisthenics this week. And I got a pair of nike 2005 Pegasus on the way. Supposed to be here tomorrow. Can't wait to put in some roadwork with those.

Yo you want calisthenics squat gains?.... Go for hundreds of reps at a time. My PR in 2022 was 555 in 1 set. Taking a few seconds between reps is fine. No breaks. No stepping out of position. I tool a while to get there tho. I was doing sets of 100 - 400 until I reached 1000 in a session . From December of 2021 until June of 2022. At least once a month. Sometimes twice. My goal was 1000 in 2 sets of 500. I didn't get there. Life got in the way. I did get abunch of 300 and 400 rep sets during those 7 months tho. And they were in routine to 1000. Not to failure. I get some serious hop gains from squat, lunge, heel raises 3 round workouts. Increasing number of reps each round : intro 25-50-75 intermediate 20-60-80 advanced 25-75-100.
I made that workout for myself in 2010. Haven't done it in a couple years either.... I'll be back at it soon.
