As a Chinese, I can tell you that Sun Wukong cannot be killed, nor can Buddha kill him, but he can be imprisoned or sealed. Like prison, Sun Wukong was sealed for 500 years, so he learned his lesson

He can make 84k copies of himself which in turn can each make 84k more copies each, so on and so on.. he was already high infinite power scaling at that stage, but there was more to go..

Imagine being a student under Sun Wukong, that'd be cool. Also fun fact Akira was gonna make Goku exactly like Sun Wukong with his name being Son Gokong, but Akira didn't want him to be op 😂

That mountain feat is actually more insane than you described. He didn't only hold up the Sumeru Mountain, he also had the Emei Mountain on his other shoulder and was still running "at the speed of a meteor". Truly insane feat. He needed a third mountain to finally pin him down.

I'd love to see Wukong vs Anos.

Sun wukong is a true immortal, and that's basically a automatic win, not only that the guy has a sh*t ton of power.
The craziest part is that buddha, the god of journey to the west had to be involved

Each 84k hairs on Wukong’s body can turned to a clone of himself with The Exact Same Strenght as him! not to mention the clones of himself can also summons 84k of himself as the circle continues, so basically u are fighting an infinite amounts of him until u dead.

honestly not sure if it works like this but the cloning could probably be infinite. blud could just make 84k, order all 84k to make clones of themselves, give it a few seconds, repeat, and now there's 84k to the power of twenty sun wukongs. basically the dude can just sit back and watch you get dogpiled while he eats peaches

this makes the power scaling in dragon ball look like baby steps

Imagine son wukong summoning 84k clones of himself and doing that 10 times and then every single clone of him spawns 84k clones of you, that would be terrifying, when he said he is infinitely powerful, he meant it...

Imagine fighting wukong a man with 1 life being 72 lives on top of minimum 4 types of immortality + 84, 000 potential copies. You would have to beat a single copy that is 288x stronger than the first copy and do that 83, 999 more times just to finally beat him for good.

Sun Wukong is like the most powerful Discord Moderator while Buddha is the Admin.

I want to start by introducing the background of "Journey to the West." The story initially takes place in the 7th century when Xuanzang traveled to India to study Buddhism. Xuanzang is the historical prototype of Tang Sanzang, Sun Wukong's master in the novel. Several centuries after Xuanzang completed his journey, the Tang Dynasty fell, and new dynasties emerged. Over time, many mythical elements were added to Xuanzang's story. These elements were featured in various standalone plays that included demons and gods, but they were mostly fragmented.

It wasn't until the 16th century during the Ming Dynasty that the writer Wu Cheng'en collected all these stories and compiled them into "Journey to the West." From the time of Xuanzang's journey during the Tang Dynasty to the completion of "Journey to the West" in the Ming Dynasty, nearly a thousand years had passed. Wu Cheng'en wrote the book but did not create the story from scratch; he compiled and expanded upon existing stories, adding many details.

"Journey to the West" is undoubtedly a masterpiece, but Wu Cheng'en infused it with a significant amount of satire aimed at the government. He specifically targeted the Jiajing Emperor of the Ming Dynasty. The Jiajing Emperor ascended the throne after his cousin, the Zhengde Emperor, left no heir. Unprepared for the role, the young Jiajing Emperor struggled to control the government, and officials did not respect him. As a result, he retaliated by refusing to attend court meetings and indulged in Taoist practices, seeking immortality. This led to a governmental standstill, much like how a U.S. President cannot bypass Congress for major decisions. This period of paralysis lasted for decades.

Wu Cheng'en lived through this era, and his experiences influenced his writing. While he did not create the story of "Journey to the West, " he used it as a vehicle for his critiques. Consequently, Sun Wukong's fighting abilities are inconsistently portrayed. Initially depicted as overwhelmingly powerful, Sun Wukong faces formidable opponents as the story progresses. This inconsistency arises because Wu Cheng'en was more focused on satirizing Taoism and critiquing the emperor and government than on crafting a consistent action narrative.

In essence, the primary purpose of "Journey to the West" is not to explore Sun Wukong's combat prowess in great detail. The character was made to be incredibly strong at first, but later encounters challenges he cannot easily overcome. This reflects the underlying themes and satirical elements of the novel, rather than being a flaw in the narrative. Therefore, scrutinizing Sun Wukong's fighting abilities is somewhat futile, as Wu Cheng'en himself did not prioritize this aspect. The true significance of "Journey to the West" lies in its hidden political critiques, masked within the adventures of its mythical characters.
