⚠️ Warning! You are doing it at your own risk!
⚠️ Make sure your cars battery is in good shape or use external power source to make sure that voltage drops will not interrupt firmware update. Also use quality SD card.
ℹ️ Navigation maps are used for traffic sign recognition and for predictive active cruise control (pACC). Keeping them up to date will boost how those two features work. Only factory navigation is displayed on Virtual Cockpit - you can not use CarPlay/AndroidAuto with Google maps on the Active Info Display.
ℹ️ This DIY tutorial was created in 2016 Audi S3 (8V) with Audi MMI MIB2 (MHI2) system but the same files and similar procedure will work for other VAG vehicles, including VW Golf MK7, VW Passat B8, Skoda Octavia 3, Seat Leon 3.

I also tried to update my MIB2 high, without to update to the latest firmware. I have the required activation code 023000ee added with MIB as shown in your video, also got the “No valid update data…”
Is it mandatory to have the latest firmware installed??

UPDATE: All solved. Maps are extremly sensitive on the way you formated your sd card and unpacked the maps. You have to format it with DiskGenius to be sure its correct and then download the maps on a PC (NOT Mac) and unpack it with 7-zip, no other software!

Thanks for a great work and very clear and detailed instructions. I have the same MMI and setup as you with the same versions etc. I have followed all of your videos and done the MMI FW update, installed M.I.B and done the AIO patch. Now when I will update the maps to 2024 I get an error message in the REM saying "NavDB_Check", Eggnog_Check, Truffles_Check and Speech_Check" all of these have Timeouts and error on the last screen says "E15" for all of these except DB says "F". Do you have input/help on this?

I have a question now about traffic data. In the first years I used car navigation with traffic data form Audi connect and it was a reliable combination.

As the key for the navigation was installed via patch, will Audi connect still work properly and provide me traffic info?

My activation key is 0230003f, for 2025 database is it good?

I just did the test and insert the SD card, it recognized and said it is navigation database of 2025.

All good or that activation key will give me problems after?
Some people say its valid till 2030, not sure.
My current database is 2017.

When you update maps: does it update both MMI maps and Dashboard Maps?

The reason I ask is because in another videos when you updated the speed traps, they don’t appear on your dashboard maps.

No hidden menu (red) when I push those two buttons. Either it puts me immediately on map (navigation) or goes to media (bluetooth).
