🛠 Audi MMI MIB firmware update procedure
3. Use 8GB or larger SD card, format it with FAT32 file system with the smallest allocation size available.
4. Extract and copy firmware update files to the root directory of the SD card.
5. Remove other cards from the main unit and insert update SD into SD1 port.
6. Disable connection with external audio amplifier
7. Enter red hidden menu and start the update procedure.
8. Wait patiently. Main unit will reboot several times before the new firmware is installed.
9. When the installation is complete you can hit "Resume" at the end of the update summary and "Cancel" on the next screen.
10. Use scan tool like OBDeleven or VCDS to clear the B201A fault.
11. Reconnect MOST connection to external amplifier.
12. Enter red hidden menu to confirm that the update procedure was done.

⚠️ Warning! You are doing it at your own risk! This DIY procedure can overwrite custom system modifications like CP-OFF patch, CID-Lock, SWaP patch, custom skins, dual-navi patch.
⚠️ Make sure your cars battery is in good shape, use external power source, or turn the engine on for the update process to make sure that voltage drops will not interrupt firmware update.
⚠️ Make sure to skip external audio amplifier update if you don't have proper tools to parameterize it afterwards. You can disconnect MOST from the main unit, disable MOST in long coding, or use hidden menu and user-defined update to unselect amplifier package from the update list.

ℹ️ This tutorial was made in Audi A3/S3 8V with MHI2 system. This procedure will fit other Audi vehicles (A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q2, Q3, Q5, Q7, Q8, TT, R8) and other MMI variants (MSTD, MHIG, MST2, MHS2, MHI2) as well.

Just FYI for those of us with B9 cars with the MHI2 Harman units, that folder on mibsolution is blank. Was pretty sure it contained the latest updates a week or so ago, but it's just an empty folder at the moment. However, the toolbox is fantastic, and I was able to patch my unit and install the latest maps and turn on dual nav, which is fantastic.

Great video tutorial! I did update the maps on my A5 but never update the FW. What would be the benefits of a FW update? Is for example the maps SW expected to perform better (e.g. routes computation and so)?

WARNING: I tried to update my Audi a3 using this website and now I am stuck in a boot loop and can't use my MMI system anymore. I can't even listen to music. Also it keeps rebooting eventhough I turn of the car.

Even Audi do not know how to fix this, so I would recommend giving this an extra thought before doing this.

I have installed an Alpine KTA-450 external amplifier - and every time car switches on an annoying "clicking" noise comes from the speakers. Same happens when driving and "start-stop" comes up. Do I need to do any changes with OBD 11...??? Have not been able to get anywhere you so much in

Hello, great and detailed video my questions:

1.
Is it possible to simply uncheck amplifier firmwares before starting update in update menu without obdeleven or phisically removing optical fibre in MIB systems (1, 2 and others). Can you do that in MIB and if you cant, is it way to do this without OBDEleven.

2.
Is this amplifier problem just on Audi or whole VAG group. I didnt see video where you do this for instance on VW or Škoda (they can have Dynaudio or Canton etc)
