Audi MMI 4G navigation maps update (free download links MIB2 MHI2)

How to update navigation maps in Audi #MMI MIB2 system. New maps can be downloaded for free and installed easily on the Audi MMI system. Even if you are using CarPlay or AndroidAuto, Audi MMI maps are used for Traffic Sign Recognition and predictive cruise control. By keeping them up to date you will make sure that those features work as expected.

ℹ️ Prepare empty SD card. Format it with FAT 32 or exFAT file system. Download #maps package, extract it, and copy to the SD card. Insert the card into SD1 port, got o MENU, Setup MMI, System update, SD1, Start #update. Wait 30 to 50 minutes for the update to complete.

🚗 This tutorial was made in Audi A7 (4G) but the same procedure will apply to all MIB2 High navigation units. The same map update is used not only in Audi, but also in Volkswagen, Seat, and Skoda cars.

Habe bei meinem A6 Avant 4G (Baujahr 2015) die Firmware und die Karten (von 2017/18 auf 2023/24) dank Ihrer Videos und Anleitungen wunderbar einfach und schnell aktualisiert. Die Zeiten für das Flashen waren auch bei mir so wie in den Videos angegeben. War alles kinderleicht zu installieren dank der Profiarbeit von mr-fix. Vielen Dank!👏👏👏👍

Works perfectly updating 2017/18 once you've done the Android auto/CarPlay Mib update prior. This Mib update also gives Google maps on AA, which is awesome. Audi price for Map update down to €200. Theres an extra km of road near where I live, that's all I would get for €200.

For all who have problem with update, showing 'No data found...'. As mentioned in some subcomments below, if you format SD card on Apple MacOS (in my case M1Pro 13.4.1) to Fat32, it will create some hidden files on it and car system doesn't recognise this update. It doesn't matter if you delete those files, system immediately create new one on SD and update in car will fail.
So you must format SD card on other system, in my case the success was with Ubuntu 23.04 - just format SD and copy files on it, there should't be any hidden files. Guess the same result will be with Windows.

Interesting thing is, when I did update to K3663, I formated 8GB flash disk on MacOS and I was able to do update through service menu (or how it is called) with no issues... 🤔

So I have just updated the maps to newest 2023 maps on my late 2016 A6 C7 and all working perfectly. First i updated the firmware to the latest version which also includes apple car play. from Mr Fix's apple CarPlay update video. I then down loaded the latest version of maps from the link provided and then expanded the files as they were compressed I then opened up the folder and moved the files to a freshly formatted 64 G USB 3.0 memory stick. Just mover the three files. I tried this a number of time and it would still not read the new maps. However this still did not work for me.
I then downloaded clean my drive and checked the new memory and there were some junk files on the stick, even though the stick was brand new. I erased the junk and the new maps were recognised by the car straight away and it worked perfectly. I big thanks you Mr Fix. The 3.0 memory stick in the arm rest works great and really fast probably to 45 mins ish to update. the stick was 6.99 off of amazon and next day delivery

It would probably help to mention the slightly complicated nature of map version licensing. You cannot go from 2016 to 2022, without actually buying a license from Audi. At best, you could go from 2016 to 2018/2019 with the included factory license. There is also the pirated way of the M.I.B. tool but I am sure we are not supposed to speak about it here 😂

Najlepsze jest to ze bylem w Audi Sverige w zeszlym roku bo ciekawilo mnie czy da się zrobić aktualizacje softu no i uslyszalem ze moge zrobic tylko do 2017 bo później to już jest inna wersja auta i się nie da...
Co ciekawe jak przekopalem internet to okazalo się ze to "gow.o prawda" bo w moim aucie siedzi navigacja high mam auto z 2015 fl i po filmach z tego kanalu udalo mi sie odblokowac wszystko i smiga elegancko...

UPDATE: I finally managed to update the maps. The file in the description needs to be extracted, I download 7 Zip software. Once unzipped/extracted, there will be 3 files which you then download/copy onto your SD Card.

Follow the video and you should be good to go 👍🏼 Also, you can drive your car whilst the update is happening. It took 55 mins for mine to be updated.
