Audi MMI 3G Plus Update | Firmware | Maps Activation

This update was a challenge for me because it was not as simple as it was with the MMI 3G. I will have to tell you from the beginning that this update will take place in about two or three hours.

As you will see, at first I did the Firmware update because there were no updates made from 2013 in my friend's Audi A4 S line.
This first update has to be done with the motor ON because there is a risk when doing this just with ignition on. The biggest danger is that your battery will drain and the system will automatically turn off (MMI, lights and everything that uses the car's battery) and there is a big chance you destroy your MMI.
The Firmware update takes about 30 minutes and in this time you can drive your car but without tunrning the motor OFF!

After firmware we have to update the Maps with the latest version. We did this update in a place where I know that in the last 2- 3 years appeared new streets is town.

The Maps Update is taking longer so I recomend taking a laptop and watching a movie or some beers. You will have to wait about two hours (there are 32 GB informations) with this update but it worth! You will have all the Europe and all the POI (points of interest) you need.

After you update maps, it is very important the last step: Maps Activator. Without this, your MMI will work for o while and than you will get the message in MMI: "The Naviogation Data is Blocked!" and you will not be able to use the navigation.

Servus! Hast du es mal gehabt das dass Navi keine Ansagen mehr macht ? Ansagen sind im Menu angeschaltet und Lautstärke ist nicht gemuted. Bestimmt schon mehrmals FW und Maps neu installiert leider ohne Erfolg.

I followed it all and it works except it wont update my maps... im thinking it doesnt like the file and it may be corrupted. i have heard you can do it manually, and i have enabled it in green screen but there are so any options after that im thinking i wont touch it.

Salut! După ce instalez activatorul și îndepărtez cardul, nu trebuie introdus din nou cardul cu hărțile, și sa rămână tot timpul în SD 1?Am reușit sa fac update de firmware.

Top tutorial, but I have the problem that updating the maps the update button is grey and kan not start the update, any idee?

Does the activation disk only work once? I updated firmware installed maps then did activation but for some reason not worked properly, i get initialising maps but locks at 44% so went again, but now at the end of installing maps the activation disk is not recognised, any help appreciated
