Great British Crime Drama 1950... another rare find.

Stars Trevor Howard and Jean Simmons. Clearly influenced by early Hitchcock (YOUNG & INNOCENT and 39 STEPS ... though no one ever approaches Hitch's genius, of course). THIS VIDEO IS NOT BEING MONETIZED IN ANY WAY.

What a cracking film, great actors great script .I was born and bred in Liverpool in the forties, fifties and sixties .Brought memories of a great city .Those old movies are so good because they rely on great actors and film makers and not special effects like modern movies. Thank you so much for the chance to see this cracking British film.

WOW! Trevor Howard, always a treat in whatever role. Young Jean Simmons, another treat. Jean was spotted by one of her teachers, just like Maureen O'Hara was spotted by one of her teachers at a convent, as talented actresses. Both ladies had exceptional careers. That era of theater and movies sadly is long gone. Thanks for uploading this well written and well performed suspenseful and thrilling picture.

EXCELLENT movie. Not a dull moment, no bad acting. Great suspense.

Trevor Howard was astonishingly likable in this, and a young Jean Simmons almost looking like the second coming of Elizabeth Taylor. What a treat. Nicely done, and certainly fulfills my growing nostalgia for stuff that, although filmed before I was born, still is very much what the world looked like when I was a boy.

Thanks for this!
Great to see a British Film at the top
of its game. Especially to see Trevor
Howard in his prime. What a natural
and gracious actor he was.
The locales really drew you in and the
continuity was perfect.
Have recently been enjoying some of
the many British "B" films that You Tube
has made available, but when you get
to experience a film like "The Clouded
Yellow" you realize the distinction.

Benjamin Frankel's music is so wonderful, especially the piano playing scene with gorgeous Jean. That melody, so short, but full of rare beauty, is especially appreciated nowadays....wish I could pen something 1/2000th as nice.

Fine movie, thank you so much. Howard and Simmons were excellent and there wasn’t a sloppy moment in 1 1/2 hours. Speaking as a fan of post war British public transport, besides the beautiful coaches and buses, the evil villain was brought to his just desserts by one of the prettiest little locos we ever built, an Austerity saddle tank. He didn’t really deserve the honour, but never mind.

Thank you, I spent my New Year´s 2020 eve watching this excellent movie. The beauty of the young Jean Simmons (1929-2010) is breathtaking. Trevor Howard is gorgeous.

This is an excellent movie that I was unaware of. Thanks for uncovering it.
“The clouded yellow” brings to the fore some great names of British cinema in its golden age.
Strong story line, fine acting and a setting in a Britain that has long disappeared.
Thoroughly good watch

This was great, very tense and well-crafted. I enjoyed this much more than a lot of Hitchcock films as the characters seemed more natural somehow. A nice window into a golden era when most people were basically decent, although it made me smile the way they stayed so neat and well-pressed through all their traumas!

Jean Simmons. Ah, what utter perfection?

Trevor Howard’s line, “We all get muddled sometimes”: Yes indeed, but few like admitting it about themselves. Many prefer to think it only afflicts others, and that’s a pity because sometimes we learn a great many things when we get “muddled” and are compelled to see ourselves and the world about us more honestly.
