What a great movie. I love the fact that movies could be made with no foul language whatsoever and still be so entertaining. This is an art form that is lost in todays Hollywood. It is always a treat for me to find a movie like this that I haven't seen. 😊

This is a stunningly crisp print. One of the best I've seen on YouTube for a 50's noir.

This was one of the unsung great films of it's era: Great story, likeable characters, even more likeable cast, great stunt driving & awesome shootouts. Edmond O'brien was one of the most reliable actors of his generation. Thanks for posting this gem!!!

This is a great film, a hidden gem! Likable characters, nice character arc for Edmond O' Brien's character! Great car chase! Subtle, non-melodramatic love story! Dramatic ending! Very satisfying movie! I loved it! Thanks for posting!

Everything came together in the late '40's early '50's to create film noir - the German expressionistic directors, the styles, clothes, cars, music. Black and white film. The tired, but great aging look of New York and LA at the time. It created what to me is the greatest period of cinematic history.

Love film noirs they don’t make them like that anymore.
Real characters with great stories make great viewing👍

I love Film Noir. The only thing that bugs me, is that often it seems like someone threw a dart at some random spot on the script, and scribbled "insert irrelevant song number here."

I always enjoy watching Ed O'Brien work. He's been in dozens of movies. I'm sure I haven't seen all of them but some of my faves are: The Hunchback of Notre Dame, The Hitch-Hiker, The Great Impostor and The Girl Can't Help It. Now here's something you may sound strange. If you forward to where the movie is about 51 mins. in, you'll see that the police car chase passes a couple of movie houses and a big sign that reads: 310 Public Auction with a caricature of someone who looks very much like Pee Wee Herman.

Can anyone recall this b/w heist noir where they rob a warehouse, large part of the movie is the heist, a key has to be remade during the heist, they eventually get caught, and ringleader sells out the crew? Mastermind tells Ringleader that "he rather had stayed in jail than ratted on his crew".
