I still remember the hype when THIS teaser was released

I don't care what anyone says about The Prequels, Revenge of the Sith is one of the best Star Wars movies ever made. And it has the best music in all of Star Wars.

Man, the hype was real when this teaser dropped, especially for an 8 year old obsessed with Star Wars.

What's interesting is that A New Hope never showed Kenobi saying the line, "For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic" from this CU angle. Instead, in A New Hope, that statement is shown in the master view, with Luke and Threepio in the picture, not in the Kenobi CU. A New Hope only cuts to the Kenobi CU when he adds "Before the dark times, before the Empire." So this teaser was the first time that this particular bit of footage from the 1977 movie was ever seen by the public.

The Obi Wan Kenobi voiceover is the highlight of this trailer imo. The pitch perfect delivery of Alec Guinness’ lines just gels so well with the Prequels imagery and adds real gravitas to the teaser despite being filmed almost 30 years earlier.

I still remember seeing this from The Polar Express. It was the night before Thanksgiving, and this was the last trailer to appear and EVERYONE erupted into applause when it was over. It was the best movie night experience of my whole life.

I was still grieving over the death of my father which was around a year prior to when ROTS hit the silver screen —- watching ROTS for the 1st time in the cinema provided about 2 hours of amusement and momentarily forgetting my grief ..

This teaser trailer was better than the actual full theatrical trailer (which kinda shows the whole movie), this one was done so nicely. It’s obviously no secret (even back in 2005) that Anakin becomes Darth Vader, but nothing in the teaser gives away how that transition begins, or why. It’s just pure chills knowing finally all the answers will be given. Crazy it’s been almost 20 years :(

I grew up with the prequel trilogy. The Phantom Menace is the first film I ever remember seeing in theaters at age 6. I was 12 when Revenge of the Sith came out. These were formative films for my childhood. RotS is my favorite movie of all time. I always have so much to say when watching Star Wars movies, but RotS leaves me speechless through the final hour every time. I loved the 3 year May release cycle. My birthday is early November so Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith teaser releases came out the week of my birthdays. They were the best gifts!
