Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith - Anakin is the father isn't it? - 4K ULTRA HD.

Back to Obi-Wan’s visit to Padmé, he knows straight away that Padmé is lying to him about where Anakin has gone. He then cuts straight to the chase and tells her that Anakin has turned to the Dark Side. She is disgusted by his revelation but upon seeing Obi-Wan’s clear devastation, she knows that Obi-Wan has no reason to lie to her about what has happened.

It is when he gets up to leave that you know that he knows everything when he asks “Anakin’s the father, isn’t he?” Padmé gives no response and can’t look him in the eyes. “I’m so sorry.”

So, I think it is safe to assume that Obi-Wan put the pieces together but not all of them because he never implies that he knows Anakin and Padmé are married.

My toxic trait is believing this movie will end differently every time I watch it

'I'm so sorry' - That CRUSHED me in the cinema! Ewan's delivery is PERFECT!

When Obi-Wan says "I'm so sorry" and walks off, I realized that he's really trying to detach himself from any feeling that he has towards Anakin. What a strong scene.

The music is among the best of the entire saga

Even at this stage, Anakin felt sadness and remorse for his evil deeds; but he also knew he was too far down the dark path to return, hence the angry tears beneath his hood.

One of the deepest moments in a movie. Ever.

“I am not blind, Padmé. Though I have tried to be, for Anakin’s sake. And for yours. Anakin has loved you since the day you met, in that horrible junk shop on Tatooine. He’s never even tried to hide it, though we do not speak of it. We… pretend that I don’t know. And I was happy to, because it made him happy. You made him happy, when nothing else ever truly could.”

- Obi Wan Kenobi

Oh, dear, I love Ewan. His deliverance on that scene is so touching, not the dialogue itself, but the fact that he seems unbalanced, like he doesn't know what to do.

Literally the most impactful scene. You hear obi won tell padme about anakin than they just cut to anakin looking over mustafar crying. Amazing soundtrack and filmmaking

Love how at 3:49 we already hear him fully lean into his Darth Vader persona with his cadence and slower speech

"Anakin is the father isn't he? I am so sorry": one of the saddest moments in cinema history

"you're going to kill him, aren't you?"
Obi-wan's stone cold face after that is absolutely chilling to the bone. What a incredible actor.

Obi wan should have added "i am not blind, although i try to be for anakin s sake"

You could feel how heartbroken Obi-Wan was seeing what Anakin had become, when he said “I’m so sorry” you could see the sadness in him.

2:32 is perfect imagery. Like the devil looking at heaven from hell knowing he can never return

1:51 to 2:48, that moment hits so much emotionally harder now after watching the season finale of The Clone Wars and the very first episode of The Bad Batch.

You can say whatever you want about the prequel dialogue but these two killed it. I cry every time I see this scene

The music from about 0:40 until it reaches it's crescendo after "I'm so sorry" is truly heart-breaking, and fits so perfectly.

Can we just take a second to appreciate John Williams because _goddamn_ this soundtrack (combined with Ewan, Hayden, and Natalie’s performances) make me want to cry

I love how many ways that ‘I’m so sorry’ can interpreted

I’m so sorry this has happened
I’m so sorry that I have to do this
I’m so sorry I failed you both
I’m so sorry this burden is being placed on you
I’m so sorry I didn’t see things sooner

God I love this movie
