I like how Sidious gave Obi Wan some props for humiliating those two droids

I can't believe Christopher Lee managed to pull that flip off at his age

"He was an unarmed prisoner."

Hahah, good one Anakin. Best joke in the whole trilogy and it wasn't even intentional.

“Good. Twice the cavities, double the fillings.”

2:30 I love the expression on Count Dooku’s face as if to say “Et tu Palpatine.”

Palpatine: "You did well Anakin. He was too dangerous to be kept alive"

* later *

Windu: "He has control of the Senate and the Courts, he's too dangerous to be kept alive".

Palpatine: "Don't kill me, please".

Oh how the tables turn.

“You have hate. You have anger. But you don’t use them.”

Ironic, you asked for it

The fact that Palpatine was amused after Anakin cut off Dooku's hands, the way he also told him to kill him, that proves that lord Sidious is starting to make Anakin his new apprentice and Count Dooku might have realized that Anakin would replace him as the new apprentice right when his hands were cut.

The novelization goes a little more in-depth detail as to how Dooku’s death would set off a chain reaction for the events that would follow. This is how Dooku’s death outlined the story to translate into the original trilogy….

_And he knows, then, that all has indeed been going according to plan. Sidious’s plan, not his own. This had been a Jedi trap indeed. But Jedi were not the quarry, they were the bait. As he looks up into the eyes of Anakin Skywalker for the final time, Count Dooku knows that he has been deceived not just today, but for many, many years. That he has never been the true apprentice. That he has never been the heir to the power of the Sith. He has been only a tool. His whole life—all his victories, all his struggles, all his heritage, all his principles and his sacrifices, everything he’s done, everything he owns, everything he’s been, all his dreams and grand vision for the future Empire and the Army of Sith—have been only a pathetic sham, because all of them, all of him, add up only to this. He has existed only for this. This. To be the victim of Anakin Skywalker’s first cold-blooded murder. First but not, he knows, the last. Then the blades crossed at his throat uncross like scissors_ .

_Snip_ .

_And all of him becomes nothing at all_ .

Dooku literally was an unarmed prisoner.

Really interesting how palpatine really planned for obi wan to die then so anakin would have no more attachments to the jedi

One of the my favorite aspects of this scene is how it mirrors the final duel between Luke and Vader in Return of the Jedi, as in both duels Palpatine watches from a throne as his current apprentice battles the candidate for new apprentice. Not only that, Palpatine even encourages the candidate to kill his current apprentice and take his place.

This was all part of Palpatine’s plan. In the comics, right before the duel, Palpatine told Dooku to go easy on Anakin. He wanted Dooku to kill Obi-Wan so that way, Palpatine could analyze and study Anakin’s abilities to see if he was fit to be his next apprentice. Of course, Dooku’s plan backfired once Anakin got the upper hand after he started to unleash his inner dark side powers which resulted in him cutting off Dooku’s hands. You can see the look of shock and horror on Dooku’s face because he realized he’d been a pawn in all of this. George Lucas was an absolute genius at creating and building storylines.

Sidious: Kill him...Kill him now...

Dooku: Wait! Palpatine is the other Sith lord. The clones were secretly programmed to obey the Chancellor to betray the Jedi. And now he's betraying me.

Sidious: 👁👄👁

I loved how Dooku looked back at Palpatine when he said to kill him lol, its like you my master and you telling the Jedi to kill me instead of helping me

3:40 ~ "His fate will be the same as ours" foreshadowing since Obi-Wan, Palpatine and Anakin died inside the Death Star...

"His fate will be the same as ours"
That line has double meaning(That all 3 of them would survive that day and all 3 of them would die on the death star)

Anakin was a lot more calm and disciplined here. He learnt from his previous duel with Dooku not to be rash and impatient, listening to Obi Wan about doing it together.

Dooku didn't have the Sith eyes as he was rarely angry and full of rage. He was often calm and was in control of the dark side and used it as a tool, instead of letting it consume him.
