Weird but cool tip I found by accident:

Weavers Needle + Violet Hail transformation…. ridiculously fun way of poisoning with this build. If you pop the needle, and then immediately transform… the hits from the needle will COUNT as if it’s a light attack hit with the transformation. Lemme explain further:

If you haven’t learned how the transformation works… basically when you hold the heavy attack button, you will stab yourself to charge focus while damaging your health. It’s intended use is that, once you’ve charged your focus, successful hits with the blade will inject larvae that you can then cast “Hive Mind” or “De-Transform” to make the larvae explode, causing big poison damage. Most people probably overlook this transformation since it’s kind of slow, difficult, and very risky to try and get those hits in after you’ve already heavily damaged yourself lmao

Well, this is where the needle comes into play. Stick yourself far enough away from the boss when you pop the needle and the transformation… and as the needle homes in to do one-off pokes, just sit back and charge focus. The needle will somehow “inject” the larvae for you from afar! 😂 You’ll see the indication that it’s working since your focus points will be going away as you’re charging them AND the boss will have lil green dots all over them. Charge focus points as much as you can safely, dodge intermittently when you have to, and then hit de-transform just before you run out of health to make all those successful larvae injections explode.

BIG poison damage fr! Super fun when you do it successfully. I hope this helps anyone else who also likes poison play-styles!

If you really want a perfect poison build you absolutely need a special piece you can only get on a specific boss named Venom Daoist on chapter 4 by beat it on the back side to see his arms down to the ground. Then you will get Venomous armguard who contain an unique talent than put poison to your enemies with critical hits.
This completely changed the build. Try it 🥳

I used this build to complete my first play through. I highly recommend that you try mixing it with a crit build to make use of the 12% from the staff (you can upgrade it to get 25% crit chance in NG+). Use the Tiger Tendon Belt soak, the Cat Eye Beads Curio, and the Father of Stone spirit.

If you have the secret poison gloves from venom daoist this build would be complete. If you missed them you have to wait till NG+ bc its one attempt per run

After playing this build for a while I have to say the elder armourworm Is one of if not the best spirit skills for this build, or any build. The passive gives you an increase crit chance while you’re in a poison state which you’re already going to be, but the pools of poison that it leaves behind DO NOT GO AWAY it’s ridiculous how easy it is to keep an enemy poisoned with the skill just kite them into the pools and the poison will stay up 24/7

Yea the gear miss venomous armguards ( secret armguard ), and i would say remove amber prayer beads for spine in the sack curios, cause it's a poison build you want to amplify more poison damages rather gaining more focus id say, there is also a skill tree later than you can unlock in transformation tree that boost poison damages as well, it's related to a missable quest.

I found poison gauntlets that cause poison damage every time you cause critical health I found these gauntlets randomly in chapter 4 I think and they go great with the centipede armour.

the brew items, i have to correct you on them, use 2 that increase poison dmg and 1 item that raise poison resistance. with this you will do much more dmg than what you currently doing

I'm using Commander Beetle spirit since I like the AOE strike and it also gives "considerable" poison resist. At max rank this does some insane 360 degree damage.

It’s important to not that when you poison yourself with the Deathstinger soak, Celestial Birthstone Fragment will also ignore YOUR resistance to poison as well. And if your poison resistance gets to 100, you won’t be able to poison yourself at all and you won’t get the damage bonus from the armor set

you need venomous armguard! it keeps the set effect of centipede and gives you crit and apply poison bane on every crit hit :)
