For those who don't know this is after, The Journey to the West. So his proper epithet is not Great Sage Equals Heaven or Monkey King. It's Victorious Fighting Buddha.

It's so interesting that wukong made the 14 year long journey with the buddha monk tripytaka with piggy, and sandy recover the scrolls and obtain buddhahood to live in peace with his monkeys only to realize he was betrayed and the heaven's started to attack sun wukong and his brethren to look for the scriptures to obtain it knowledge and power for selfish reasons he made a contingency plan as back up to keep his master safe and the scriptures where no would find it.
