Negative emotions are not always bad. They have an important role in our well-being as they often spur us to action. In terms of the emotion that accompanies climate change, the riddle to unravel is distinguishing those elements over which we have control—and doing something about them, from those elements that are beyond our reach—and letting them go. This presentation will walk language teachers down both paths and will propose strategies for teachers’ own emotional health as well as ideas to help their learners--even as they are acquiring a new language!
