Project Zomboid is an open-world isometric survival horror video game in development by British and Canadian independent developer The Indie Stone. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested world where the player is challenged to survive for as long as possible before inevitably dying.

'Til Death Us Do Part was a story included in Project Zomboid as its own game mode. It served as the tutorial to introduce new players to the basic concepts of Project Zomboid, like base fortification, scavenging, and fending off hostile undead and survivors.

In 2013, 'Til Death Us Do Part was removed from the game, along with NPC survivors, with the release of version RC 2.9, due to NPCs being far too buggy. The Indie Stone did not abandon the story and have stated they still have big plans for NPCs and the story of Bob and Kate.

Manz literally kept praying even as he was being eaten alive.
What a way to go...

IMO the most disturbing thing is how he attempts to comfort the listener and himself with "Don't worry I am ready for this" but breifly betrays himself with "get back! GET BACK!" and the screaming as he continues the prayer. Despite his piousness and faith in the brink of death you still can't contain the sheer primal terror that comes with being torn apart and devoured alive.

I remember how one of my bitten charecters went, i had done everything right, i stayed away from heavily populated areas, i made a farm, i had generators and gas, i had weapons to spare, and all it took was one little mistake for my charecter to get infected. I remember being so outraged by this that i decided " You know what, if im gonna die im gonna die in a blaze of glory" i grabbed a shotgun, all the shells i could carry made some molotovs, found a police car and swapped out the battery to give it power, filled up the tank and took it right out to the front of the mall, i turned on the sirens and waited. As the undead bastards poured out i opened fire with everything i had, i have no idea how many i killed but by the end i was a bleeding mess, and as the corpses burned in heaps i just took a seat down by the car, smoked a cigarette and waited for blood loss to take me. It had been a good run. and i left behind everything i needed for the next charecter to come along. Eli Finch had given it is all, and may whoever come next do the same when it its his time to go.

It's fucked up to imagine moans, groans, ripping and tearing of flesh as this pastor gives their final sermon. Thank god it's in text format and not audible.

Edit: I also neglected to mention another thought...

When the priest starts screaming from the pain, it takes a moment to realize he's still broadcasting to... anyone left really. So with the last of his willpower he does his best to compose himself and inspire hope, unknowingly adding another layer to an already unsettling broadcast.

Everybody's talking about how much sympathy I feel for the pastor, but all I can think of is that the voice sounds from the Radio makes it sound like he is just telling a normal news broadcast

Props on the devs for the radio world building, hopefully they can provide a more legitimate world building experience in future updates that isn't just radio stations or TV

This reminds me of a written account by a monk in a monastery during the black death. I cant remember the words exactly but the gist of it is

I am alone now, everyone else is dead, there is no one left and the world has ended.

This poor man just straight up thought the world had ended. Everyone in his village and the monastery had died. Imagine how terrifying that must have been

Honestly? To be eaten by zombies and STILL doing a prayer is badass in its own way. It just shows you how much faith the pastor has, even if it didn't really save him, it gave him the drive to endure though.

this reminds me of the priest in the superb survivors mod, you can find a bitten priest with a shotgun inside a church making his last stand

Not even christian, religious, or god fearing in any kind but that simple text really give me shivers. These kind storytelling really adds to its quality

As a Christian, this would break my heart, if I even survived long enough to hear that i'd most likely just listen in horror, and think about it for a few hours.

Imagine before the power goes out when you tune in to certain radio stations you just hear the moans of the Dead instead of a news broadcast until you clear out a station manually

This is similar to a real life event, where a girl was caught by a bear. Her last act was to call her parents, who had to listen to her last words while she was being audibly eaten alive by the bear.

If they ever added voices to these channels...the play through would be terrifying...I mean think of you just looting in a house and you hear someone talking because the radio is on....
This is jumpscare material right here.

Oh but here they come.
Do not worry. I am... ready for this.
God bless you.

in an alternate universe god comes down, looks at the pastor and is just like "damn bro, I forgot one, come with me homie *ascends*"

ngl this would make for a really good scene in a zombie movie. It would really let the characters and even the viewers feel the panic and hopelessness setting in
