So Should you buy a 2023 Toyota Sequoia? Did Toyota make a mistake updating another one of it's ancient trucks?

In this video we finally get a chance to properly review the 2023 Toyota Sequoia in a fashion you normally don't see in car reviews.

First we start with the technical side of things talking about the engine, hybrid system and transmission. Then we take a tour underneath the new sequoia to see what changed.

Then we take a look at the exterior and interior. Some things we like, some things we don't like.

I love Car Care Nuts new car reviews. All other reviews focus on features and drivability. I really want to know the nuts and bolts of what we are buying, and whether or not these mega machines will last.

A complete and honest review from a Toyota master technician for a Toyota vehicle. You can't get better then this professionalism.

Legit review. Got tired of other channel reviews on YouTube. Cabin space this, soft touch that, zonk this, panel gap that.

The more new car reviews I see, the more I want an older car

Along with the others, I greatly appreciate your honesty and how well informed you are. I previously owned a 2011 Sequoia and presently own a 2017 LX570. Both did and have served me very well with no mechanical problems over 100, 000 miles on each vehicle presently. I am very, very reluctant to purchase a hybrid LX or Sequoia in the future. I'm glad to see that you share my reservations.

I own a 2003 4WD Sequoia I bought brand new back in 2002. Now 20 yrs and 260K miles later it still runs well, a little banged up on the exterior but most of its parts are still original, only had to replace power steering rack and radiator, and of course the infamous rear door latch. But other than that it's bullet proof. I was so so excited about this new Sequoia when Toyota revealed it. And the first Toyota fan boys that got their hands on the early preproduction unit to review it had nothing but great things to say about it, which only made my excitement grew. But as more and more realistic reviews come out I got really disappointed. This review is the final nail. Thanks for talking about the details of this engine, I did not know it has so many radiators and separate cooling systems, just a disaster waiting to happen, among many other negatives.

This channel is solid gold. Lots of talking heads trying to do the doug demuro trick. You bring a refreshing perspective and layer of expertise to the car review game and I love it! I wish you great success in this endeavor! Subscribed!

Great review of the Sequoia. My beloved 2017 4Runner was totalled in an accident earlier this year and was looking at this model. For the price, the build quality was unimpressive and there wasn't anything that stood out about it that could justify the price. I settled for a '22 Lexus GX460. Although used, it was much nicer for a fraction of the price.

Now, this is information a consumer can use to make an educated purchase. The rest of the reviewers just talk about what the buttons do. I can do that by going to the dealer. You explained the function of the inverter. Thanks.

So glad I got the 2021 4runner, I plan on keeping it forever even if I get another daily. It is about as bulletproof you can get with proper maintenance. I think any car in the future I buy will be after the model is out a few years and the kinks are worked out. May do a lexus hybrid next but going to wait and observe for a few years

Excellent review.
I agree with your "Germanized" description 100% and they need to get rid of whoever is making all these decisions to add so much complexity on the engineering side.
Makes me cringe thinking about the cost and time that will be involved repairing these things.

I hope Toyota is listing to this review. What were they thinking? $80, 000 for a "beta" version of a vehicle. Fantastic review.

My main target is the newly released Toyota Grand Highlander, but I'm not speaking with any dealer yet until I get to see your full comprehensive review on that car. I love your honesty in reviewing these Toyota cars. Jah Bless!

I was thinking about but... I'll better stick to my OLD dinosaurs which is 20 years older and with 225K miles still runs like a charm. Thanks for review, great !

I think I'll stay with the proven V-8 non turbo engine and buy used Land Cruiser. Great review.
