How to Jump Start with Toyota Hybrid vehicle.
First, you will want to make sure both cars are safely parked and turned off before starting.

Step 1: Open the hood and locate the Jump Start Terminal under the fuse box cover

Step 2: Connect the red positive jumper cable to the positive terminal  on the car with flat battery.

Step 3: Connect the other red positive jumper cable to the positive battery terminal on the car giving the jump in the Fuse box of hybrid car (Toyota Auris).

Step 4: Connect the black negative cable clamp to the negative battery terminal on the car giving the jump.

Step 5: Connect the second negative clamp to a solid, stationary, and unpainted metallic point that is out of the way.

Then you can turn on the Toyota hybrid and look for a “Ready” indicator to come on and keep it on for few minutes.
From here, you just need to start the engine on the vehicle giving needing the jump and let it run for about 5 minutes.
You can then remove the jumper cables from both vehicles.

man after completing jump start you should unplug the cable in reverse way... first detach black negative cable from dead car and then remove negative cable from donor car...after that first remove positive cable from dead car end and then detached from donor car... safety is important

This doesn't explain how to jump start a car from a hybrid specifically. This shows how to jump start a car. I have a hybrid that keeps shutting off the engine when it's not being used. This video doesn't cover how to keep a hybrid's gas engine running to complete the jump. Also missing from this video is the order in which to disconnect the cables.

Nice of you to do that but the "Care Care Nut" who is a Toyota master tech on Hybrids said that a hybrid to hybrid is fine, but one is taking a huge chance of damaging something (I forget) very expensive when jumping a conventional gas vehicle.

These instructions are backwards from what it says on my jumper cables, as far as which vehicle has both clamps connected to the battery. My cables show that the dead battery only gets the positive cable, while the good battery gets both cables…

Going to try this shortly. My girls Lexus IS NOT a hybrid and mine is. Her vehicle battery died recently from our arctic winter free storm we had. Hope this works and I’ll let you know.

does the hybrid have enough power to jump start a conventional vehicle??

Does the inverter/converter use the same coolant type as the radiator, or is there a special coolant for it only.? I think the radiator and inverter/converter have separate pipes from each other?

Not clear where the negative cable is connected with the car EV giving the jump.

Never Jumpstart the donor car doing this. You can overload your hybrid system this way. Just connect the battery's and wait a minute. If the dashboard and hybrid system has 12 Volts the 206 volt hybrid battery will start your petrol engine.

You actually don't want to jump start another car with your hybrid, ever

This is a PowerPoint presentation with music. How handy!

Put the car name in the title. There isn't only one type of hybrid out there

I rarely comments but his video demonstrates a number of dont’s jumpstarting any car especialy hybrids. Toyota refrains you for jumpstarting anything but Toyota hybrids. Dont ruin your car for youtube. Why? It quite obvious if you kno anything about electrical engineering and terminl sizing.

dont ever do this stupid thing if you jump a hybrid from another hybrid that won’t be a much issue but if you try to jump a ice car from a hybrid which is not good for the hybrid car because it has not designed to draw that much current from the 12v battery and doesn’t have an alternator so starting up or reving the hybrid does nothing …please avoid this method at any cost
