Buncombe County's death toll from Helene rose to 72, Sheriff Quentin Miller said during a 4 p.m. update with other county leaders on Thursday. Miller also announced the number people reported missing stands at over 200.

From Western Carolina University: After much deliberation and considering the many ways Hurricane Helene has affected our students, faculty, and staff in Cullowhee and at our Biltmore Park instructional site, we have decided to continue suspending all classes—including distance courses—through Friday, Oct. 11.

Thanks to Elon Musk for the Starlink ! Those announcers can’t even read the correct phone number right 😂 from the teleprompter in front of them. 😂 I wouldn’t trust an ABC network donation 😂

They better start telling where the dead were found. If it's mostly in a specific area. The water is affected by this. We should be able to know, especially for the children. I'm just learning about Green River and that area which was just repaired by the last flood.

Thank you for your coverage! I am in the Triad of NC and we are doing what we can in our community to help out. We are working in our local communities to get donation drives together through the Fire Departments to deliver supplies to the areas that most need the help.

The phone number you verbally gave out was not the same number portrayed on your screen. You said 1600, the screen said 6100. Just saying.
