Hey Doc.
I have severe spinal stenosis in L1 and my surgeon says that after the surgery I wonโ€™t be allowed to lift weights or bend down or even run on hard surfaces. Like ever! Is this true? Or is there a procedure or a technology or something that can ensure that I can go back to living a normal life without any restrictions.
BTW I have no crippling pain or numbness or tingling anywhere. Just enough to cause minor discomfort.
Thanks Doc!

Its been like 9 mothns and i want to know that should i go to chiropractor or opt for operation please help me out on this one . I can sprint with not that much pain ( mentioning this because i am scared of operation lol )

But you are still calling it spinal fusion. So do you still fuse the facet joints?

The more movable parts in a device the more chances they will need to be fixed/replaced later. Prove me wrong...

Could it work for ankylosing spondylitis patients to keep the fusion in check? Iโ€™m a sufferer and this disease sucks

You can say whatever you want and no matter how advanced the technology is, we know, nothing is better than natural, physiological ossification over time (no constant immunological rejection reaction, no risk of displacement of the implantโ€ฆ).
All that should be done is to remove the disc tissue that is pressing on the nerves and to support the natural ossification process. But such operations are less expensive than operations that involve implantation. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
