Yes I try to avoid fusions, but if the patient needs it- letโ€™s do it! This is an ALIF cage. When I do surgery, I use what I consider are the newest and best technologies

Watching your channel has helped enrich my decision making process of going forward with my L4-L5-S1 fusion next month with Dr. V. in Tulsa. A couple years ago I consulted with a surgeon in the area who was well-reviewed but his patient engagement was poor in my book. Even through three office visits. I have the benefit of the doubt the first couple thinking maybe it was a rough day. But it never improved.

Thankfully I found one who is excellently-reviewed, is equipped with a friendly demeanor and is willing to answer my questions and concerns. God-willing I will get some relief and be able to live life again.

At least you try to avoid surgery and fusions as a first. I hope more people get to know about the 'CLEAR' physio method for scoliosis as time goes on. A long fusion has been my biggest regret.

Iโ€™m recovering right now from an ALIF yesterday some of the scariest and awful pain Iโ€™ve ever felt but I donโ€™t have my other symptoms which means, surgery worked. Iโ€™m excited to see the results

I had my first spinal fusion in 2020 and absolutely regretted it. Now Iโ€™m getting a revision done in 2024 to replace damaged hardware and try to find some reduction of chronic pain.

Who is not a candidate for this type of technology? I need L4/L5/S1 disc fusion, however I have osteoporosis and scoliosis due to muscle spasm. Would I need rods and screws instead?

I recieved 3 fusions in 2019 and 2020 im literally dying in pain every single day of my life. First fusion failed when i stepped off a short step 3months after 1st surgery they redid that one and added another level to the fusion and then did my neck and went 4 levels up there. Sure as shit cost $800k but i dont feel like a million bucks... dont think i ever will.

Is the metal โ€œcageโ€ in the body not an alien object in stead of using the patientโ€™s own bone tissue as plugs etc (not metal rods). ????

How do you know if a patient needs a fusion vs a disc replacement or something minimially invasive? I have a c6 c7 issue and my surgeon wants to do a fusion but i dont want it. Im a 35 year old truck driver but i deliver fuel so i lift heavy hoses. I also ride motorcycles. I dont want to be out of work for 6 months with a fusion or lose motion because i also have 1mm or so protrusions above. I dont want to damage them more and need another fusion. Trying to find my best route to continue to live the way i do. Help please.

Hey can i ask you how serious is a 3mm x 6mm t6-t7 thoracic disc protrusion that is posterocentral? I'm scared this will lead to spinal cord damage? I can't find information on how many mm is bad for that area, I'm only 29 and I'm just worried how this will effect my life or things to be worried for the future, i was in severe pain, it's almost been 3 months and still have tongling/nimbness/ prickling and stiffness but less pain.

Can this bone be used for collapse vertebra??

I wonder if it would be possible to create an artificial and articulating disc out of PEEK and something along the lines of Whartonโ€™s jelly. My father had a fusion in the early 2000s on his L3-5 and it has caused alot of cervical problems with degenerative discs as well as not being the most well executed fusion to begin with. Is there any way of preserving what mobility he has left?
