Dr. I have a 7mm anterolisthesis at L5s1. There is prominent lateral disc bulge and bilateral facet degeneration. Severe bilateral forminal narrowing with patent central canal. I have some issues at L4L5 as well. I was hoping I would be a candidate for this at L5S1 and possibly L4L5. Is that possible? I was told I need a fusion, probably at both levels and then some procedure to make more room going up several more levels. I'm afraid if I get the fusion I will need more going forward. Thanks

Dear Dr. Donnally, can you replace the worn-out disc in my back between L5 and S1 with an artificial one? And possibly L5 and L4?

For an active athlete who requires heavy lifting, etc., if you need two lumbar disc replacements, do you recommend a hybrid or both discs? What would be stronger or recommended if you have the option?

Do all spine surgeons perform this or do a lot of them still rely on full fusions? If I was told I have stenosis and have had a partial laminectomy @l4/l5, how could I qualify for this? I feel like this is a better option for me vs a fusion but I do not know the ins and outs. Please help!

How about after laminectomy? 😔 had 2 level in October (34-45) and things have gotten much worse. I really would like motion sparing replacements - at least for 2-3, 3-4.

I have degenerative disc decease on L5 and S1. My pain has been increasing for the last 2 years to the point im scared to exercise, tried physical therapy and stretching but it feels like it’s gradually getting worse, should I consider surgery before it gets worse? Would I be pain free after the surgery ? Would I have limitations?

I had minimal invasive lumbar decompression in March 2024. Unfortunately the spinal stenosis came back even worse. My l4 l5 disc is bulging and pressing heavily on my sciatica nerve to the point I have to use a cane because my spine keeps having lateral shifts left and right. In your expertise is disc replacement a good option for me?
