If you ask the average gymgoer what single physical factor most affects muscle growth and fat loss, they would probably answer “testosterone levels.”

And they’re right.

Testosterone is certainly a primary hormonal driver of muscle growth. Research has shown that anabolic steroids, which drastically raise testosterone levels, given to even young, healthy men can induce muscle growth and fat loss without any exercise whatsoever.

Thus, it would be fair to assume that the higher our testosterone levels are, the more muscle we build and the leaner we get, right?

Well, this is where things get interesting.

As a guy with a natural level of 923 ng/dl, i would say that it's extremely easy to keep my weight down and to gain muscle compared to my peers. There is a noticable difference between me, who only does bodyweight excercise at home, and my friends who go to the gym and eat a bunch of protein powder. So in my experience, having higher testosterone really is easy mode.

Had depression, low sex drive, no morning wood, could hardly get it up or burn fat. I was pretty much skinny fat. Doctors kept giving me Xanax and antidepressants. This went on for 20 years. Finally a doctor gave a test for Lyme disease. I also asked to have my T levels checked. My testosterone was 120 and my free T was non existent. Treated my Lyme and am currently on 160 mg testosterone cypionate. Feeling strong, hungry and honey. I've been doing hit training and getting ready to join a gym. It's nice to feel alive again.

I'm 47. My T was 72 after a few months of androgel it got to 318.

I had low testosterone. I was put on TRT at the age of 21. Yes, that’s very young but it’s becoming more common. I busted my ass in the gym, and barely any improvement. I was depressed, run down, and always felt like something was missing. TRT is a life saver. It improves my way of life.

I had been dieting and training hard for years but always felt super depressed and all around shitty. My quality of life was awful. I got shredded with abs and everything and had zero confidence or sex drive so it wasn’t worth it. Increased calories to a healthy range under 2500 and stored a bit more fat than I wanted to.. recently got bloodwork done and found out my levels were below 250ng/dl. Explains why I felt so terrible for so long. Now I’m 2 months on trt and feet great! It’s life changing and my gym performance is sky rocketing. I once dieted on 1500 calories to get lean and now seem to not be gaining any bad weight at 2700 calories so it definitely did my metabolism some good as well. We’ll see what happens to my body composition these next few months.

I am 42 years old. Been lifting for 7 years now. Running my first cycle of test. Startet at 250mg sust a week. Now 750mg a week. In the last 2 months ive gained more then the last 2 years.

My levels are at 144 right now which are extremely low! I’m going to get them back up by going to my doctor let’s see how drastically this helps! I’m struggling to lose and gain muscle it’s crazy! Never expected to be this low.

Testosterone has changed my life . the fat just falls off. I run 200mg of test c with 125mg of deca aweek. I feel amazing im 55 years old and i feel 30 now..

There are so many misconceptions about testosterone therapy but as someone who is currently on treatment and is overweight it has been a game changer for me. My levels were mid 500 and it was getting difficult to get the weight off especially with turning 40 this year. I was eating healthy, taking my vitamins, getting rest and exercising but I was not seeing the results. I was also experiencing other symptoms of lot t such as feeling fatigued, moody, restless, ED, and more. The moment I started treatment it felt like a total 180 ❤. I start injecting only 250mg sustanon every week .. I noticed my muscle getting tighter and arms getting veiny My abs are showing my shoulder getting bigger my waist line getting smaller from 32 it goes 29 i noticed like what u said i loses fat that what i experienced right now like what u said .. i have questions if i up my dosage like 500 mg a week is my muscle getting more bigger quickly .. or just stay 250mg?? Most of the information here is extremely accurate but it would have been nice to hear a mention of free testosterone which is often ignored even by doctors and it;'s arguably more important than total testosterone levels you discussed in the video.

I had a varicocele that caused some permanent problems with my T production and I was at around 150 at my worst. And wow did I feel like shit. After TRT for 4 years my numbers have been in the 900 to 1000 range (seems to work best for me overall) and I can honestly say it made a huge impact on my muscle growth. Not in a pro body-builder way...more like a jacked MMA fighter which is what I prefer anyway. But I agree, that bringing your numbers up slightly doesn't have any noticeable impact. My experience has been from one end of the spectrum to the other and it's like night and day.
