I went to my doctor and asked to get my testosterone levels checked and she said I was too young and refused. I'm 44.

I went to get mine checked and they were 348 NG/DL. I’m a 30 year old man with those levels. My doctor said “you’re good man, that’s within the normal range”. Blew my mind.

Having high testosterone levels is extremely important, especially in this day and age. Most men today have suboptimal levels of testosterone - a lot less than their fathers or grandfathers had just 30-50 years ago. There are various reasons for this. One factor that is oftentimes neglected is endocrine disruptors in our environment (i.e. xenoestrogens, BPA, phthalates, triclosan, etc), phytoestrogens in food (i.e. soy, which is in almost ALL processed foods), and hypothyroidism (subclinical or autoimmune Hashimoto's disease). There are many ways to increase testosterone levels naturally. Diet, supplements, and lifestyle changes can make a tremendous difference in boosting testosterone, DHT, growth hormone (GH), IGF-1, and other anabolic hormones. Sleeping before 11 p.m. works wonders for your endocrine/hormonal health. Including more cholesterol in your diet which is a precursor to all steroid hormones helps as well - red meat (beef, lamb, bison etc), seafood, eggs, full-fat dairy, organ meats (offal), and saturated fats in general (even plant-based sources, such as coconut oil, cocoa butter, etc). Weightlifting, especially multi-joint exercises, such as deadlifts and squats, have been shown in various studies to increase testosterone, IGF-1, and GH levels. Tribulus Terrestris is a famous supplement that offers short-term benefits, but doesn't address the root cause of testosterone deficiency. No one has a 'Tribulus deficiency'. Concerning supplements, the big 3 are 1) magnesium, 2) vitamin D3, and 3) zinc. Choose a magnesium formula that contains many forms of magnesium as every form carries unique benefits compared to the others. Concerning vitamin D, go for a product that is sourced from animal-based sources to maximize its bioavailability. Do not use more than 5, 000 IU per serving as over the 5, 000 IU mark there are malabsorption issues. Break the dose into 2 or 3 servings throughout the day, depending on when you consume a high-fat meal. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that requires fat to be efficiently absorbed in the intestines. When it comes to zinc, use zinc picolinate 30 - 40 mg per day taken with a fat-containing meal as zinc picolinate is partially fat-soluble. A nice read on increasing T levels naturally through weightlifting, nutrition, and supplements is Vintage Physique by George Kelly. Old-School bodybuilding diets were very rich in testosterone-precursor compounds, such as cholesterol, saturated fats, zinc, magnesium, vitamin D, B complex vitamins, vitamin E, selenium, boron, iodine, etc. This is one of the reasons why Оld-Schооl bоdybuilders looked like real-life superheroes. If you combine high T with regular weightlifting, the results are compounded (1+1=3). Testosterone also makes you stronger in the gym and more explosive athletically.

At 28 I was 360 ng/dl lifting, sleeping right, very good diet but always felt like shit.
At 30 I tore my bicep tendon at work and gave up on life for a few months. I got tested and was 230ng/dl. They still refused trt. I went through a 3rd party clinic and feel significantly better.

Having normal testosterone levels is absolutely mandatory in my opinion. I wrecked my balls as a teenager and by 30 the little testoerone I had coming from my factories was woefully inadequate. To say you don't exist at that point is and understatement, you can't think, you have no energy, sex is no where even remotely on your brain. I finally got a full blood panel test which revealed levels much lower than Chris' starting point which prompted the doctor to immediately initate steps to take and to get it retested in 1 month. After all was said and done I ended up on TRT and for the first time since being a child I felt alive. I had energy, I was calm all the time (what is this feeling I thought when i experienced being relaxed for the first few times), I had sex drive which was absolutely amazing, I could think clearly and had decent memory, I can't name a single thing that wasn't improved by this one hormone. In my opinion this should be a mandatory health check every 5 or 10 years. I got put through the ringer before getting TRT by the NHS which was absolutely horrific torture, and I really mean torture it was mental brutality with all the different pills that they want to put you on despite having the root problem right there, in the data, in the science, just right there, right, damn, there. I should also note that don't expect TRT from the NHS, their standards for low are extremely extreme. Go private if you can and get it checked, if you have even low in range your life will be impacted massively. The NHS wants to put you just over the very bottom line that's redefined whenever they take a new average (lowers every year) which is a terrible place. Talk to many excellent private professionals and none will agree with the NHS. Put your health first as always and make it a priority. Good job Chris, that difference is huge and congrats!

Saw a guy in the comment section saying his doctor refused to give him a testosterone test because he was to young at the age of 44. Same thing happened to me as I was just curious about my hormones and levels. He also told me protein powder was bad for my liver. This is why I'm always skeptical about "experts".

Yo if Chris is low on testosterone, everyone else is also 💯

This is amazing and I’m happy for you. As a woman over 40, I know that my hormonal levels could definitely be optimized as well. I wish this type of health care was available to more people. Imagine all the untapped potential.

I live in Canada and pretty sure if I asked my doctor to help raise my testosterone, I’d be put on some sort of hate group list. They would not entertain helping me out with that. Even when I asked for blood work to determine vitamin deficiencies they said that’s only permitted if I’m experiencing weird health issues

I saw this clip about a month ago, that was the first time I learned about Boron as a supplement. My t levels are 860 but I have low free range and was searching how I can fix this so I looked into and watched a lot of boron reviews and eventually bought it off Amazon. I take 10mg daily and let me tell you within 1 week I noticed and felt a change. Im feeling so much better and the general is standing tall at dawn again which hasn’t happened in years. I can’t wait till March till I get my yearly bloodwork done to see what my levels look like then.

Exactly the same for me. I went to get my levels checked, the Dr. assured me emphatically that my hormone levels are probably fine and that I should just take an anti depressant. I literally had to TELL him to run the hormone tests anyway. Turns out my T levels were just below 400, which is below the normal range. The doctor insisted that it's a fluke and we ran the tests again, and again 5 times, month after month, and my T levels only once went above 400. I saw three different relevant doctors after that (endocrinology, urology) and they all insisted on marking my issue as "erectile dysfunction" (and I never had that problem nor did I say that I did) and subsequently my insurance refused to cover anything. I'm sorry, I'm completely convinced that we're looking at a systematic erasure of a very obvious pandemic issue. I have many friends who've had a nearly exact same experience. WTF is all I'm saying...

This just made me think of how a lot of people say we live in a patriarchy. But almost everything we do in our day to day lives negatively affects our testosterone levels.

I had the same experience. I did go on TRT, and I now know what normal should feel like. All guys should get checked!

I’m trying to set an example for my sons. At 42 I decided to actually start to lift seriously and watch my diet. Showing my sons that you can get fit and and change yourself for the better is one of the best examples I can show them of masculinity along with running my household and treating my wonderful wife with admiration and respect. There are way us as men can show you get men how to be men even in the smallest ways.

I am 39, NHS wouldn’t test for testosterone unless you complain of depression, muscle loss, mood swings, a decrease in the size of your balls and gyno all at the same time. I have been struggling with motivation and building muscle since COvid really but I thought it must be because I don’t have access to a gym, stuck at home etc. My T level was 374 and the doc said it’s in the normal range. I was dissatisfied to say the least. 1. I eat meat including organ meats, 2 I eat a lot of fat 3 I don’t avoid all carbs 4 I have been working out 3 times a week in the gym for a year by the time I got my blood test 5 I don’t have a stressful life 6 I mostly sleep well. Have been thinking about getting on some gear, just to get it back up to 600+ but I am not convinced enough. This gives me hope that I can do it without gear. Thanks for that

Reading through all the comments of men attempting to see what their hormone levels are at only to be shirked off by doctors, it reminds me of myself and a bunch of other women that have tried to get a hormone panel done for similar reasons, and have been met with the exact same reception. "You're fine, just take this thing, we only run a test like that if you ACTUALLY have issues."
No preventives for sex specific issues that develop later in life, no checks to see how much better your life could be if you knew where your body was at, nothing. I thought it was just women because of how much they harp on about being ignored/dismissed by doctors.
What the hell is going on???

I was on painkillers for a long time for chronic pain and had a variety of low T symptoms. An endocrinologist tested me and I was at 315 ng/dl. She said I was on the low range of normal, so no action needed. A year later I was in a gym and there was a company next door that did hormone testing for men. I went in, they did the test a few days later and my result was still in the low 300s. I went on weekly testosterone injections and my symptoms were gone in a month. Better mood, fixed libido, reduced breast tissue, better ability to focus, less feelings of exhaustion, no more brain fog. I asked the new Dr (a guy) about the initial opinion and he was like "in general, you should see male doctors for male problems - they will take you more seriously." I don't think enough men know about the symptoms of low testosterone and how badly it can screw you up, PLUS it's a vicious cycle. You get depressed/tired so you don't work out, so you get more out of shape, so you get more tired.
