Nose Unblocking Exercise

• Take a small, silent breath in and a small, silent breath out through your nose;
• Pinch your nose with your fingers to hold your breath;
• Gently nod your head up and down (or sway your body) while holding the breath. Try to build up a large air shortage, without overdoing it of course!
• When you resume breathing, do so only through your nose; your breathing must be calmed immediately;
• After resuming your breathing, your first breath will usually be bigger than normal. Make sure that you calm your breathing as soon as possible by suppressing your second and third breaths;
• You should be able to recover this breath hold within two to three breaths. If you cannot, you have held your breath for too long;
• Rest for a minute or so and repeat;
• Repeat this exercise five or six times until the nose is decongested;
• After doing this exercise a few times your nose will be unblocked.

Trying to sleep last night here with Covid (Omicron suspected) day 4 isolation.
Couldn't breath through my nose and sleep was painful through the mouth. This worked a treat for me, just need to be sitting up. Thank you so much for making a difference my life in a small way during this time.

I did it 5 or 6 times and noticed only a slight difference, but then I did it one more time and really pushed my head up and down nodding it, and my stuffy ear suddenly popped! My nose and ear feel a less clogged, awesome!!

Years before seeing this video and learning of this method, I discovered this for myself; but without the nodding part.
I found that when I held my breath for as very long as I could, my blocked nostril opened up; as if it were an emergency reaction to allow as much oxygen entry as possible.
Anyway, finding this video is a revelation.

I've struggled to breathe through my nose since being a young child. Since starting this I've totally cleared my sinuses and no longer breathe through my mouth. Thanks so much

I initially posted here about 2 months ago and am happy to report that this method has helped me considerably with regard to sleeping/breathing difficulties. My sleep has improved, I have had fewer and less disruptive breathing stoppages, and generally wake up a bit more relaxed than in the past. Because of these successes, I will continue to practice your method. Thank you so very much for this illuminating video.
