Patients need healthy foods to get through radiation therapy for cancer. This is most important for patients who are getting treated for oral or throat cancer.

Types of diet recommended

• The food should be soft and easy to swallow

• Choose proteins over carbohydrates

• Avoid spicy foods

• Avoid fatty foods

• After the treatment, the patient should go for foods that will increase the body’s strength and immunity
