Why do we lie? And how often are you lied to? Well, sorry to break it to you, but it's probably more than you think. People lie to avoid punishment, for personal gain or because they get a kick out of it. Basically there are lots of reasons that people lie (and everybody does it).

I just had a problem with doing it, I am trying really hard not to do it ever again, I felt really guilty looking back and had to confess and ask forgiveness in some way, and say sorry in case any of my lies caused trouble. I'm sorry.😭🙏

I make a conscious effort to always say the truth and it's been working very well for me until now. I can't find a good reason to lie. Telling the truth over lying is more valuable for me, as tempting as lying can be sometimes. Keeping honest in a normal world is not difficult for me, however there is a problem that was presented by Kant which I think I would fail, therefore lie.

Yes! Everyone lies! The most important thing is that we don't lie to ourselves. An added benefit of self honesty is that it is easier to detect deception.

So, 2 years ago when I was a lil shit teenager I lied about my college grades bc I was givin a chance to take college lvl classes in highschool and didn’t want it to seem like I was throwing it away.
Fast forward 2 years and I’m retaking these classes as a “young adult” (18) and lied once more about what classes I’m taking bc it would be weird if I took classes that I previously passed.
So now I’m here wondering why I lie to the people I love and who are trying their best to help me, bc all it did was force my self into an awkward situation. Yeah, admit that I lied twice and move on, but imagine it was the other way around.
Anyway, it’s either I lie to make things awkward later on, or I seem like a failure right then and there. It’s Obviously no excuse to lie, but no matter what I do it seems like I’m making the incorrect decisions that lead to me making more bad decisions.

Once I came to the age of realizing mostly everything I was taught was nothing but a lie, it really messed up my world view. Later as I look into even more things aren’t true as I was told, so how can I trust anyone when those closest to me only lies.

One thing I told my mom was, that she shouldn’t have lied to me. if the world is just a terrible place in which no one understands why or how we got here, and all we do is repetitive task all day than really a robot could do it just sets us up for a slap in the face from life.

The Bible is clear that lying is a sin and is displeasing to God. The first sin in this world involved a lie told to Eve. After planting seeds of doubt in Eve’s mind with a question, he directly contradicts God’s Word by telling her, “You will not certainly die” (Genesis 3:4). With that lie, Satan led Eve to her death; Adam followed, and so have we all.

Being truthful is precious to God; it demonstrates the fear of Lord. Furthermore, to tell the truth is not a suggestion, it is a command. The Christian faith is built on the promises of a God whose promises are always fulfilled. He is a God of truth, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. Jesus called Himself the way, the truth and the life ( John 14:6), and He expects those who follow Him to be people of truth. The truth is to be expressed in love (Ephesians 4:15), offering hope to those seeking redemption from the lies of the world.
Proverbs 12:22
"Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, But those who deal truthfully are His delight."
Be a delight to God today. What a precious proverb! If God delights in you, your future has no bounds. How can you easily obtain God’s favor? By honesty and truth in your dealings! Simply speak the truth and be a man of your word. We belong to the Lord, and may we honor Him 100% with every gift He has given us.

Gosh I was the truth teller and that was not easy dealing with adults ! I disagree with this . Today from the USA to UK and Germany Divorce is between 50-80 % of Married couples. Tell the truth and avoid these Narcs.

To anyone who knew me reading this I need to confess to lying, I've lied a lot in my life and I'm very sorry for it, I'll never do it again I should have known better I'm very sorry to anyone who I knew in school or in life that I've lied to or lied about, I'm sorry I shouldn't have lied and I feel so guilty about it and so I'm confessing cause I'm scared it'll come back to me one day, please forgive me and forget about it. It just digs a deep hole that you can't get out of and I don't want to be known as the one who lies. I'm sorry if my lies have given anyone trouble in their lives..😭😭😭😭😭
