I switched to classical style about 10 years ago. So glad I made that choice.

I use all three styles. For most strumming songs (especially easier songs), I use #1 and #2, when I play fingerstyle/classical, I use #3.

after of 40 years of playing position 1 is my favorite but it can also produce pain in your right shoulder (to avoid you must workout or/and stretch)…
for learning new pieces and a long period of time position 3, for me it’s less stress…
rehearsal with bands only position 2, best preparation for live playing…
