Wow! You are a great teacher. You really broke it down and repeated the sounds and made space for us to repeat it after you and with you. And the graphics were superb. Thank you so much!

This is a good way to teach the pronunciation of a word, loved the way you broke down and explained this word

Brilliant explaining it in this manner using parts of western words to get the intonation right. Thanks for taking the time to make the video. 😊❤

Thank you, I have a teacher who has this last name and this video helped.

I think the hardest part is the tonal part. The fact that you actually have to raise your pitch in the end, or you're still not right. For languages like English, that aren't tonal, that part is very hard. At least it is for me.

Are two twin Vietnamese girls with the last name of Nguyen considered a “Win-Win” situation ?

🤦‍♂️😉

I do appreciate you making more content I am hoping you could maybe do something like read stories in Vietnamese that are comprehensible, some vocab lists again etc. Appreciate it!

Vietnamese friends have explained to me that the heart of the problem is that Vietnamese is the only Asian language that uses the Roman alphabet, the French have converted it from its original language when they first colonized the country 200 years ago- this has resulted in considerable confusion among those raised in Roman alphabet languages such as English, French, etc. Had Vietnamese remained in its original alphabet format, transliteration would, ironically, have been much simpler...

Arguing with my husband over how to pronounce the guy on the ballot for Senator’s name. He said “Twan Noo-gen” and I told him no it’s “Win” because I had an English teacher with that last name and that’s what he had us call him. Mr. Win! I’m settling for “Nu-Win” now 😆

Helpful how you break it down, but please don't have background music - it makes it harder to hear the nuances of the pronunciation. Thanks!

I always says it as two syllable Ngu-Yen 😂
Ngu and Yen as in Japanese money.
Idk it reads as Ngwin

I’m Canadian but adopted from Vietnam I’m here to try and learn my birth language. It’s so hard! That was the last name I was given before my adoptive parents changed it. I guess I was wrong haha. I was saying “noooyen”

What software do you use for your motion graphics? They strongly encouraged me to practice along with you

Is the letter g silent? I can't hear it. sounds like "New Eeen". My old Eeen was broken so I bought a new eeen.
