The New Nintendo Switch V2 is now out everywhere and I think it’s actually worth the upgrade! In this video I pool together knowledge from myself as well as Kevin Kenson, SpawnWave, Erica Griffin, GameXplain and Digital Foundry to break down all the changes with this second generation Switch as well as the misconceptions. Then I go over my experience upgrading and why I think it’s worth it for everyone who values battery life! Below are affiliate links where you can buy the Switch V2 and good battery bank options since having a battery bank is even more valuable with this new revision. Of course it won’t be worth it for everyone, it’s up to you to decide for yourself!

*_Hello everyone, thanks for watching!_*
How important is the extra battery life and these other minor changes to you? Will you be upgrading? Why or why not?

By the way, I don’t think everyone should upgrade. Obviously the worth is going to be subjective for each person. And it might not be worth it to you if you’re on budget, play mostly docked, getting a Lite, don’t want to bother with the hassle etc. I feel like I should have given a little more time in the spotlight about these things. I went in a little too narrow minded on the “worth it” section. So I apologize for that. Still I hope taking a look at my perspective has help you decide wether or not you want to upgrade or not!

my guy sounds like he's telling us a story in secret.

Yes upgrade it ONLY if you like to bring your switch EVERYWHERE and you don't have battery accessories for your switch but if you only play in your home keep your switch but if you don't have a switch get the new one

I got my switch around the same time as Mario Kart came out, and I had my original Joy-cons (with the C1 model number) and never had any problems, not even drifting. I did eventually buy new ones after I accidentally snapped off the stick on the left one. I brought the ones with the new model number and they seem to work great and had no problems just like my old ones. Thank you, Adam, for making this video, I enjoyed it a lot.

I buy the old one last week because v2 make price of v1 drop a lot 😆 Red is really my lucky colour 👍

Original Switch handheld mode is good for your health.
It stops you playing games and let you take a break about the right time.
play 2.5 hours and take a break and play it again after it fully charged.
If I had V2 I'll be playing Fire Emblem 4.5 hours straight... and it's not going to be good for next day morning.

Traded my original switch with the new one on GameStop, absolutely worth it due to the longer battery life.

Nice analysis! This upgrade is really only worth considering for primarily handheld players. I do not fall into that demographic so, while certainly nice, the V2 Switch isn't for me. Had Nintendo put the rumored Sharp IGZO display on this Switch, however, I might be singing a different tune 😅

Batteries degrade with time. That's something to consider. A more efficient chipset is probably the only reasoning it's cooler therefore going to lower the degradation to the battery. For me it was a no brainer 100 for the new revision and replacement of my joycons which to be honest where driving me nuts. So in all I'm happy

I'm not upgrading. I'm keeping my older Switch, but then next month I'm getting a Switch Lite! I'm planning on keeping my V1 Switch at home and taking the Switch Lite on the go. And I am not transferring the data to the Lite; I'm planning on having my V1 Switch as Digital only.
Also, love the new background! 😉

To me if you have the OG switch and it works and has been working for you then as of right now there probably isn’t a need to spend $299 on a V2 for some better battery and a pinch of better screen quality. If you don’t have a switch then picking this up over the OG switch is probably the better option. But if you really need that extra %15 better battery life then go for it. Also as of rn there has been cases of the new joycons still drifting so that’s a minus,

I bought a switch late june and while I dont regret the battery life since I barely take my switch out of the dock, I feel like I should upgrade
