I know DDR5 performance isn't powerful enough to justify the costs right now, but in the years to come, I cannot WAIT to see how this increases not just video game performance, but how developers will create and design their video games bigger and better than ever because of the new DDR "norm". That goes for CPU's, GPU's, etc. It's so exciting the major transition we are in right now in the video games industry. I absolutely love video games, they are such an escape and I'm just so excited whenever I hear new hardware info like this! :D

In 99.9999% of games DDR5 makes little to no difference especially at GPU bound resolutions compared to much cheaper DDR4

There is no reason to justify DDR5 worth the money unless you have infinite money. Real performance benefits are not even 10%, while price is much more than 10%. And 50%. And basically 100% too.

FR though. prices are magnitudes higher than the performance benefit, timings are still utter garbage, there are a scant few compatible options, and youll be suffering from Early Adopter Syndrome, which typically exhibits unnecessary pain and frustration as its primary symptom

I just bought ddr4 3200 Corsair Dominator memory last year. I spent a lot for my build so I'm not upgrading anytime soon.

DDR5 has shown that it offers basically 0 performance improvements at all over the same capacity of DDR4, and it's also way more expensive. Right now there's no reason to buy DDR5

Right now at least I don't see it as necessary for the vast majority of people. Me included. If I get a new platform, i'll probably get it.
