EXCELLENT video! Thank you so much for the clear, easy to follow instructions. I just watched a bunch of videos like this one and yours was by far the best.

Amazing video! This is the only in-depth crimping video on YouTube! Even the 30 minute videos don’t cover that much info

Viewed several and this was the first to show a proper crimp! Thanks!!!

This is timely information for me. The guys at the hardware store treated me as if I were a moron when I asked for some crimp butt connectors. I'm trying to rewire a vintage Gone With the Wind Lamp that will require joining three alum connectors to copper connectors. I can do this! Great, well done video.

You can touch and twist copper all day it will not corrode. More often then not you need to twist it to fit the copper in the connector you're using.

At 2:43 Stranded vs Solid: It's good (for me anyway) that you pointed that out. Although, it might seem obvious to some.

So precise and well done, but you don’t mention the split in the metal part of the connector. Which side do you crimp on the split?

I have VACO crimping tool and it has round holes as the tool you show, how are they used?

Great info! Fyi I think your video is in 4:3 format. It would look better in 16:9.

Is the heat splice better than the pinch?

This is an in-line splice, not a butt splice! At least at the major aerospace company I worked for. Butt splice is where two wires run parallel to each other, then the ends are spliced together, side by side. That said, a google search shows multiple references such as this video calling the in--line splice a butt splice. Otherwise good video showing an in-line splice (we also did not twist wires before splicing or crimping).
