In this video we teach you how to use wire strippers and severa wire stripper hacks to help you get the most out of this commonly used electrical tool. With wire strippers you can not only strip wire but you can also cut wire, size wire, loop wire and bend electrical wire.

To use a wire strippers to strip wire you should first identify the gauge of the wire and then insert the wire into the proper sized hole on the wire strippers to remove the insulation. Typically most wire will indicate the wire size on the side of the wire or packaging. You can also use the wire stripper tool too determine the wire gauge.

With the wire in the proper wire stripper hole you can then squeeze the tool together and pull the tool towards the end of the wiring to remove the insulation from the wire. The wire should go with the direction of the groves on the stripping tool for the most efficient stripping of the wire.

To create wire loops you can use the holes located further back on the wire stripper jaws to curl the wires into a loop that can then be attached to a light switch or electrical outlet terminal.

The blunt end of the wire strippers can also be used as pliers to bend wires or create loops. Wire strippers are an essential tool for electrical projects.
