I tried this and had a heck of a time trying to pull the wire over the middle screw, even after sharpening the tip as best I could. What I did find is that the outer screws do hold the wire very securely and are adjustable for different wire sizes. With that, I could pull the wire through with one hand while holding a utility knife blade right between the two screws on the top. The heads of the two screws touch so the blade has someting to keep it steady and I can control how much force I use with the knife. This worked perfectly.

shoot this is a rough and ready method. But looks like this can be made a lil more effect by filing down a lil the tip of the middle screw
