this is what i do when i add extra speakers (amplifier speakers)when their wire is short and add a extra wire to it and after it did work

Nothing wrong with the splice. It was never said what it would be used for. You could use a crimp or solder it and apply heat shrink. I believe it’s a Western Union splice.
