My Pocketknife Making A Virginia Pine Bow Drill Friction Fire

This was a piece of cake for my little Stanley 10-049 pocketknife. I've been EDCing this knife for over 10 years now; and, it's cut miles of cardboard, poly tubing, rope, cleaned squirrels and fish, cut up cans for grease lamps and hobo stoves, is my go to knife for scraping the ferro rod, making wood scrapings, cutting denim and cloth for char, cutting fruits and vegetables, etc.
The durable 1 1/2" stainless steel blade is easy to sharpen and inexpensive at $2 per. The blade rarely needs to be replaced, though, because it hardly wears down even after 100 sharpenings.
Carving out this Virginia Pine Bow Drill set was of little challenge. It girdled branches with release cuts so they could be broken off. The sharp blade had no trouble accomplishing all the whittling tasks involved without needing to be resharpened.
Today's friction fire came easily with these 5 Virginia Pine components: fireboard, spindle, bearing block, bow, and misc. fuel wood. You'll have to see it to believe it... Please follow the LINKS below and SUBSCRIBE. Thank You!

That went better than the cedar yesterday. You inspire me Everytime you grab a branch and and have a plan even if it don't go as planned you make it work. Thanks for bringing us along in your journey.

Thanks Mr. West. That was very cool. Way back when I used to go to a little country Church (about 200 years ago), we sang a song called "Little Is Much." It went, "Little is much if God is in it. Labor not for wealth or fame. There's a crown, and God is in it. If you go in Jesus name." Your "my little Stanley pocket knife" refrain, reminded me of that long long long forgotten song. Love your style Sir.
