Most Reliable & Least Reliable Car Brands 2022 | 2022 Motoreasy Survey

In this one we look at the results of the 2022 Motoreasy survey featured on the WhatCar website. This looks at the most reliable car brands in the UK in 2022, as well as the least reliable car brands in the UK and is based on responses from 16,000 people.

This 2022 Whatcar reliability survey focuses on cars under 5 years old and looks at issues or breakdowns that have occurred in the last 12 months only.

I hope you find this useful and helps you find what is the most reliable car brand to own and perhaps the most unreliable cars you should possibly avoid.

Nice break down would be nice to do a comprehensive list of other manufacturers that didn't make this list

I knew Landrover would be one of the top worst performers but I wouldn’t change my Range Rover for anything less than another Range Rover. They are the best in my eyes.

I owned an Alpha 159 for 3 years and it never missed a heartbeat, people always seem to shoot down Alpha Romeo but I am certain that every cars reliability is earned by the way it’s driven and how it is maintained by the owner, you look after your car and your car will look after you

Were a large family we've been looking for an 8 seater we found the hyundai i800 was a good deal for us while the children are in school we drive a discovery 1 300tdi at weekends we drive a defender 110 csw 12 seater but isn't ideal over long journeys im disabled and the automatic i800 seems ideal I can't find much bad about them a few had broken cam chains and slipped shells if not serviced on time have you heard anything bad about them to look for great channel found it tonight watching and subscribed good job

Not too many surprises there, yes Fiats, JLR and Alfas bad, but surprised to see the Fiesta in there. On the good side I was surprised to see the MG doing OK, but time will tell with them.
I had a Mitsu PHEV for 6 years and absolutely nothing went wrong with it, my current EV6 has had a few problems already, and the dealers do not fully understand them yet.
You are correct to be a bit sceptical about these owners ratings.

Strangely enough the most reliable car I ever had was a Fiat van, ten years without anything other than light bulbs. And I flogged it. Some people complain about a light bulb failing of course…

Glad to see Suzuki doing well, always had a soft spot for them as they are so unpretentious, Land Rover are the Harley Davidson of cars top money but not justified ….

The small Renault 1.5 Diesel engine used in the Dacia and used by numerous other manufactures will go down in time as the most reliable modern diesel ever made.

I own 2 Land Rover vehicles, 6 years in total, they had been looked after before I bought them and I maintain them properly, neither have ever let me down, the problem comes with them being serviced on a shoestring, get yourself a specialist, not some backstreet garage that does the minimum when servicing.

Last Alfa Romeo i drove was over 40 years ago which was taken in part exchange as it was rotten . Them and Lancia were rust buckets.
I sold a brand new Lancia Beta Spyder convertable which had to go to the paint shop as it had rust along the boot lid.

Landrover and alfa romeo are two of the nicest looking cars, and two of the best cars to avoid...always have been.

I always take these with a pinch of salt like you said. The Japanese always have done well in these, and it always throws up anomolies. For example the cx3 is basically the same car as the 3, so for them to be different in reliability terms is a bit weird. It's a bit of a typical what car thing, and the most popular cars tend to do worse than less popular. . Maybe there's something in that.

Real shame land rover so unreliable as a reliability engineer it's not that difficult. But great video thanks.

Surprised Skoda didn't make most reliable. And no I don't own one but the owners I know tend to think they're brilliant
