ReDriven are carrying the torch for authentic, down to earth, realistic auto journalism that somehow manages to capture not just the practical nuts and bolts stuff of every car they review, but also the real-world ownership experience, as well as the intangibles that can explain why a car that isn't perfect on paper is still worth people's time and attention. You guys strive to uncover the feeling and character (if there is any!) of the car and I love that.

Quote of the year for me -
"The people who buy an XM - Dont buy an XM
Spend that money on a good therapist
Work out your self-esteem issues because you're buying to feel good about yourself and buying material objects is never going to fill that gap in your heart and soul"

Love your work, great to see a authentic and realistic Australian auto journalism for once! Purchased my car based on one of these vids, and very happy

Re the X5. I can't talk about the model driven, but I own a 2020 X5 3.0 diesel.
It's my 5th X5 over the last 25 years and the best.
I've test driven comparable SUV's - ML/GL series Mercs, the Audi Q5/Q7, the Porsche Macan/Cayenne and prefer the X5 as a drive by far.
Practical, flexible and reliable (always serviced on time).
I had an E class Mercedes T-bone me doing 60km/h. My 2011 X5 was stationary at the time and according to the Police the X5 saved my life and I quote "a lesser SUV and you wouldn't be here with only bruising".

I typically keep them for 5 years and sell with 200, 000 km or so.

Love your work guys, especially these end of year 'specials'. Your vids are always an entertaining look, even with cars I have no interest in. Looking forward to another year of your unique ways. All the best for your new year Adam & Jim (and the unseen ones in Sam & Cal).

Since your Honda accord euro review ive been glued to the channel. I always recommend ReDriven when i know someone looking at a new/used car. I did so with my mum and her Suzuki Vitara Turbo. Her seeing your video pretty much finalised her decision to go right ahead and buy it.

"There's no need for that car to exist. It's just for people that have massive self esteem issues that need to have the latest giant SUV from BMW" (and other brands too).

You guys are going from strength to strength. I have no intention of upgrading my 135i (because Nostalgia), but your videos are so entertaining it makes it damn tempting. All the best for 2024!

I am a JDM die hard for at least 25+ years now. You guys nailed it and I'm glad you had the guts to say it. I've coped it forever about how corolla like most of them are in stock form. Even having driven multiple gtr's in each model, RX7's and supra's etc.
BUT, with some very simple modding to every part of the car, they all become a pretty raw and brilliant driving experience.
Would I pay today's price if I didn't already own it = no chance. Buy a brz/86 and the same mods would be every bit as fun with much more modern packaging.

Great to see authentic and genuine views about vehicles for another year; I can't wait to see more excellent content next no vehicle branding sponsorship, which is a wonderfully refreshing feeling.

Real opinions that resonate with the public in Australia...keep it up boys

Great video, great channel. Reminds me of the no holds barred, no cow tailing motor journalism you could read in the hey day of Wheels magazine back in the 80s, showing my age now. Well done guys. Each video is adventure with forthright info and no fear or favour, exactly the way motor journalism should be. Most other stuff on the web today is just an ad for the car company

Having a BMW master mechanic as a friend. Always said X5's are the worst. They see them the most in there with the crazy expensive repairs. He couldn't even recommend them lol.
Keep up what you guys do. Love it.

As an owner of a Land Rover Discovery 5, my second one, I can do nothing but concur with your conclusion. Which probably means I'll end up getting another one because Land Rover owners are idiots and I do not exclude myself from that judgement. To balance the misery of this poor choice I also own a GR Yaris so I think that kind of forgives a few sins. Doesn't it? Doesn't it? Anyone? I'll go away now. Happy New Year guys and thanks for a wonderful channel. Love it.

Great reviews, it's hard to get honest reviews these days with most just being super positive about everything they drive. In the UK BMW and Merc are very popular and having owned both I Totally agree with your views on them, looking forward to more content in 2024, happy new year guys.
