JD Power surveyed 12,000 drivers with cars registered between 2014 and 2016 to compile its 2017 UK Vehicle Depedablility Study. I take a look at the results in detail, and highlight the best cars in each class.

How can BMW be the least dependable brand, yet MINI is one of the most dependable. This survey doesn't add up.

Fault- Needs a new engine
Fault- Had to change the headlight
Fault- Wiper broke
These things does matter if you want to make a list based on 'faults'

BMW's 2 faults per 100 cars was probably the indicator stalk not clicking up or down.

But also this survey means nothing when each fault has the same weighting and people who complete the survey are more likely doing it because they are dissatisfied.

All I can say is all the Audi drivers I work with are on first name terms with the mechanics at the Audi dealership..They are always in courtesy cars! Glad they like the badge!

I think it's funny how Skoda essentially use the same tech/ hardware as vw audi etc yet they always get rated much higher for reliability

I can't believe Vauxhall even got into the top 10, you only have to look online at the amount of damaged insignia and astra engines for sale because of low oil pressure issues and they also seem pretty common to snap timing belts too.

OH MY GOD I DISAGREE COMPLETELY WITH ALL THE RESULTS BECAUSE I KNOW THIS GUY WHO KNOWS THIS GUY WHOSE UNCLES FRIENDS AUNT OWNED SUCH AND SUCH CAR AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM *insert generic unfounded insult towards some car brand or other*
