Matthew has since come out with a video that clarifies his note taking. He says alot of the highlighting and drawing lines (and so one) was not really practical and has updated his methodology in recent years.

I have found that I like 3-ring binders or the disc planner system where I can add pages as I want … the thing that stopped me from writing in a regular journal was running out of room … I want to keep ideas together and keep adding as I need to and the 3-ring binder works great!

This is not only an option for folks who like a cleaner note taking system, but as in my case, it is a brilliant option for a bigger issue. For folks of my age or greater, some of us can't read font that is 8 or even 9, I need more like 10.5, and there are to my knowledge no bibles available in the version I need with margins wide enough to take notes. I say this to say, thank you Adam, this is definitely an excellent option to help with that demographic. I had already seen this on Matthew's page, so I knew about it, but for those of my age (55 and up) this is a great solution to our ever frustrating issue of getting older. :)

Got a new Note taking Bible - says on the back Patterned on Joanathan Edwards last month. Learned how to use OneNote and use ipad with OneNote last week. Bought an Apple pencil the day ios 14 came out without me knowing it. Found yours and Matthew Everhard's videos. Part of UK I am in is back into lockdown so now have time. If I didn't know better (lol) I would think God was trying to tell me something.

I like this system in general. Not trying to nitpick but the whole “00” thing never made sense to me. Why not just M1, M2, M54, M105, etc…? What does one need “00” placeholders for? If one does this for years eventually their own miscellanies could hit 1000 and beyond. So a 3 digit system doesn’t mean much in this respect either.

I don’t see it as you stealing his idea, Matthew got the idea from J. Edwards.
We all take something we have learned and applied to our lives if is good. Also, I took J. Edwards, Matthew and your ideas of note taking - I tweaked it up my use, yes I use the system but made it personal for me.

Sorry to further explain. I am now transferring notes from all over the place to OneNote so I can use wherever I am.

I also love reading my Bibles I have a world Bible school study edition Bible and a catholic life Bible and a children Bible as well and 2 kjv mini bible can I write in them with a pompom pen or a regular pencil sending you lots of love and prayers for you and you're family

A video that I didn't learn anything from. All i heard was Matthew Everhart... Bible Study is a personal experience, one that's between a believer and God the Father. It is not about a "system", it is about interacting and applying God's revealed truth. My Bibles are messy because I mark up my Bibles a lot. I personally have developed a color system when marking my Bible so that I know thd gist of a passage or verse just by looking at it. No journals for me...😊

My question is what happens when you need a new journal. Do you continue the numbering? If so, what happens when you get to 4 digit numbers? I wouldn't think that will be an easy thing to do if reading from a thinline or something similar.
