Just use pen and notebook. UI is super minimal. Simplicity is the key over here. You can use an index to find things really quickly. If you have a notebook along with your pen, you can take handwritten notes, checklists and tables.

But apple notes consumes much more battery than any other note taking app available .
My m4 I pad pro lost almost 60% battery in just 3-3.5 hr which usually lasts almost 11-12 hrs on full battery and 7-8 hrs on 60%

If only Apple Notes worked, it would be THE BEST NOTES app. For me, at least. The problem is that, when taking handwritten notes, it heats up like crazy, drains the battery in a stupid manner and becomes super laggy.

WHAT I CANT STAND:

I enjoy apple notes. And going from typing into hand written notes is pretty seamless. However, one backspace, and you can erase an entire hand written notes accidentally back out of the note or leave the folder on accident? Pooof. It’s gone. Forever. Absolutely ridiculous.

Depends on your use case. But yeah, if I needed something that'll be a generally worse experience than paper, but at least stored in one place, I'd choose apple notes too.

The huge problem with apple notes is only being able to access them from the Apple ecosystem. Unlike OneNote etc you can use it on every device.
