How long does it take to build muscle? Here’s what I’ve managed to accomplish in the last 3 years. I should note this was:

1. My personally journey (genetics, consistency, training methods, etc could all change this timeline).
2. Done naturally (any sort of PED’s would obviously change this). I feel I should also note I recommend you stay natural if you’re a casual lifter like myself.

I was 19 when I started to lift. I started at 155lbs ... 6ft3! Very skinny! I put on 50lbs in 2years going from 155 to 205lbs. Took another year to gain 10 more pounds and I topped out at 215lbs. Then I got busy with life (running my own businesses) stopped lifting for 8 years and very slowly over that time lost all my size and strength back down to 160lbs. I got back into it and within 4months I gained 40lbs and 90% of my strength back. I gained 30 of those lbs in the first 2 months. That's what happens when you have already been a certain size, your muscles are forever changed and it takes a fraction of the time to build the muscle again. Muscle memory is real.

Congrats. Impressive and appreciate disclosing what a realistic time line is to put on that much clean muscle. The first 5-10 lb comes quick when you start but then diminishing returns requires consistency.

I started at 130lbs and am now 155lbs, I am at your starting weight after like a year and a half lmao. I started with calisthenics for a year and have now been lifting for 5 months

I did the same mistake a premature cut cuz summer was here. Still looked great and for the first time in my life received compliments about my body. Can’t wait till next year
