Sounds exactly like me and my husband. And here I thought we were THE most dysfunctional couple ever. According to you we were about as good as it gets. Thank you. He passed away last month.

As many as his talks are, this one is just as interesting and marvelous! There are even ones that I talk about on my channel like those on School of Life and Google. They are pretty good as well. Such a great speaker with a great mind!

This is exemplary material; aligns with a groundbreaking book I've read. "The Art of Meaningful Relationships in the 21st Century" by Various Authors

Is Alain de Botton saying in his video “what makes someone attractive” that it’s good to have a capacity for a little cruelty is good compared to a customary extreme consideration when in fact most people are not considerate and capacity for cruelty is no skill, no good, no strength, no power, no success, no compassion, no kindness?

I'm amazed he can think of all these topics, sometimes he overthinks the human condition. Basically we are simple creatures. Most people go through life, having contented life's without such analysis. He tells you, you have a disease to sell you the medicine.

Sorry this is bulshits. Yes familiarity covers up discrepancies and faults but.. you still have one tool to talk them out... It's called consciousness and intellectual ability, it gives you a chance to grow out of your patterns and unsolved family issues. This obviosly if you really love to share your life with that person. Obviously that partner has to be special and worthy. otherwise you can as well move on yes. revealing vulnerabilities promotes union and growth if there is trust and conversation
