How to Not Get Offended and Ditch Your Ego:
This week's Tune Up Tip is called "Got Ego," but it really could be called "How Offend-able Are You." How often do you find yourself saying things like, "I can't believe this person said that to me," "That person owes me an apology," or "I'm so pissed that they thought [or said] that." Do you often feel offended? Being offended is an ego response to what someone else has said and the cure is to realize that we cannot control others. We can only control how we respond and react. You can always speak your truth about a way someone else made you feel, but you're the only person whose opinion matters in your own life. Be mindful for the next seven days about not reacting to what other people say to you or about you. It's all about what you think of you.
