No System Sound When Using FL Studio? - Easy Fix!

This tutorial will show you how to fix no sound problem in FL Studio. A common problem when using FL Studio is that you can't hear any system sound like YouTube, spotify etc while using FL Studio at the same time. This is because FL Studio uses an ASIO driver which takes complete control of your sound card. If you want to hear youtube and watch some music production tutorials for example, and use FL Studio at the same time then you'll have to change the ASIO device in the audio settings in FL Studio. That will fix the no sound problem. Note that this will also introduce more latency, so if you plan to record inside FL Studio then I recommend switching back to the ASIO driver that came with your sound card, or use ASIO4all. The FL Studio ASIO driver is a kind of hybrid driver that will allow you to hear sound from FL Studio and windows, YouTube etc at the same time. This can also be very useful if you want to screen capture FL Studio and record the audio too. If you try to screen capture FL Studio using the ASIO4all, there will be no sound. If you switch to the FL Studio ASIO driver then you can record the sound too. Problem solved.
Some ASIO drivers that comes with your audio interface will allow you to hear the system sound and use FL Studio at the same time, however, it usually won't work if you try to screen capture FL Studio. For that you'll usually need to use the FL Studio ASIO driver, or there will be no sound.
Alternatively, you can also use the "auto close" option to fix the no sound problem in FL Studio, but the audio will drop in and out constantly, which can be annoying, so the easiest way to fix this problem is to use the FL Studio ASIO driver. The only con is that you get slightly more latency compared to the ASIO4all etc.

Mine still doesn’t work, thing is even after I close down the FL all other sounds still disable and the only way to fix it is restart.

I also use voicemeeter banana. I send the audio from my DAW using the fl studio asio, and from Windows using 2 separate channels into Voicemeeter, which than sends the audio in two channels into my recording so software allowing me to mix the 2 sounds independently of each other and also record them separately. It's a little more complicated but it gives me more flexibility overall. If you don't have to record anything it also works with the asio4all and focusrite drivers. When recording I find the fl studio asio driver to be the only one that works.

Ok, but what if i need my audio chart driver to be enabled? I cant really switch to fl studio asio while im recording cuz i need real time with no latency . So, i cant do none with this ?My friend got focusrite scarlet audio card and he doesnt have this problem .

I installed my focusrite and whenever I put my focus rite as input and my headphones as output the whole fl studio gets muted… but I see the wavelengths of the mic working but I can’t hear nothing no beat no vocals

the complete opposite happened to me and I didn't even have any windows up. I just went back to the beginning of the song and the audio stopped, all settings are the same so now i'm forced to restart not only fl studio but also the entire song since the version I have doesn't allow me to save my project and no one has a solution for that problem..

My issue is I need to have AISO4all open to record with my mic but need youtube karaoke playing in the background to record the vocal audio 🤔
